It is not a crap shoot. What do you believe about God? Have you read the Bible? Have you checked out different religions to see what each one is all about? Well that's what you need to do, and then you can decide what you believe, and which religion is right for you.
If a person that had faith in their own religion, did not think that theirs was the only true one, then they should get out and find the one that they did think was the only true one. That is not putting any religion down. That is saying that , you would not have faith in something if you did not think that it was the true thing to Have faith in, would you?

Do not ask which religion to follow to go to heaven until AFTER you determine there is a heaven. Once you determine this, then you can figure out which car to take.
Based on the cursory glance you seem to have given the subject, I would say that you should approach all religions inquisitively, and atheists as well, and do you best to LEARN, not just follow. Allow no one to blind you, and never let questions be met with anything but clear and honest answers.
Test everything, truth will survive.

Actually, Catholicism acknowledges the possibility of other faiths being a legitimate way for God to "speak" to their adherents, but asserts: once you choose a way, you should invest your dedication to that faith, unless "divinely inspired" to do otherwise. The ides is: Once you choose a path, it's best to stay on it, rather than jumping from side to side.
This is why Pope John Paul ][ was attacked by so many non-Catholics for meeting with groups of Muslims and acknowledging their faith as a legitimate path, even though there are major doctrinal conflicts.

Aleister Crowley Had a parable which he claimed explained western religion and/or civilization:
A soldier found himself on a long train ride in a compartment also occupied by a middle-aged gentleman with a perforated box on his lap. The soldier tried to strike up a conversation by asking
"Excuse me sir, but what do you have it that box?"
"It is a bit presumptuous of you to ask young man but there's no harm in telling you, it's a mongoose" said the gent
"Isn't that a rather exotic pet for England?"
" It is not so much as a pet but as a cure"
"A cure?"
"Well as a perfect stranger I imagine I can divulge a family secret. You do not know me and I doubt we will meet again. My younger brother is a bit of a wastrel and the black sheep of the family. He's taken to gambling and whoring and both drinking heavily and taking drugs. It seems he's developed Delirium Tremens, he imagines he sees poisonous snakes everywhere. So I am bringing the mongoose to help him."
"But sir, Don't you realize these snakes are imaginary?"
"So is the mongoose."
The Aneristic Principle is that of APPARENT ORDER; the Eristic Principle is that of APPARENT DISORDER. Both order and disorder are man made concepts and are artificial divisions of PURE CHAOS, which is a level deeper that is the level of distinction making. With our concept making apparatus called "mind" we look at reality through the ideas-about-reality which our cultures give us. The ideas-about-reality are mistakenly labeled "reality" and unenlightened people are forever perplexed by the fact that other people, especially other cultures, see "reality" differently. It is only the ideas-about-reality which differ. Real (capital-T True) reality is a level deeper that is the level of concept. We look at the world through windows on which have been drawn grids (concepts). Different philosophies use different grids. A culture is a group of people with rather similar grids. Through a window we view chaos, and relate it to the points on our grid, and thereby understand it. The ORDER is in the GRID. That is the Aneristic Principle. Western philosophy is traditionally concerned with contrasting one grid with another grid, and amending grids in hopes of finding a perfect one that will account for all reality and will, hence, (say unenlightened westerners) be True. This is illusory; it is what we Erisians call the ANERISTIC ILLUSION. Some grids can be more useful than others, some more beautiful than others, some more pleasant than others, etc., but none can be more True than any other. DISORDER is simply unrelated information viewed through some particular grid. But, like "relation", no-relation is a concept. Male, like female, is an idea about sex. To say that male-ness is "absence of female-ness", or vice versa, is a matter of definition and metaphysically arbitrary. The artificial concept of no-relation is the ERISTIC PRINCIPLE. The belief that "order is true" and disorder is false or somehow wrong, is the Aneristic Illusion. To say the same of disorder, is the ERISTIC ILLUSION. The point is that (little-t) truth is a matter of definition relative to the grid one is using at the moment, and that (capital-T) Truth, metaphysical reality, is irrelevant to grids entirely. Pick a grid, and through it some chaos appears ordered and some appears disordered. Pick another grid, and the same chaos will appear differently ordered and disordered. Reality is the original Rorschach. Verily! So much for all that.

Religion is all about faith. You can believe there is a God without seeing him. For example, the wind. You know it exists you feel it but cannot see it right? Well that's how a relationship with God is. You can feel his work being done on you but you cannot see it. It's all about your faith and outlook on life. Every religion claims to be the "one" only YOU get to choose which one is correct for you. the only way you'll know you're going to heave is by being faithful. Pray!!

That's true, there is either one true religion or zero true religions and considering how many religions exist the probability of any religion picked at random (or picked based on what is the dominant belief system where you were born) being right is close enough to zero that you could easily get away with calling it zero.

Illegal Creations, that thing about the wind? Wind can be scientifically measured. Your god can not. The effects of the wind are not open to subjective interpretation. Your god is nothing but subjective interpretation.
One would think that, with all of the people that have been trying to prove that a god exists, someone would have found incontrovertible proof by now. However, there's not a scintilla of evidence, which leads me to believe that gods -- all of them -- were created by humans.

That is just the book religions. Paganism is more tolerant than that I am Wiccan. We have no hell to go to and all paths are just as good as the other. We do not declare absolute truth only personal truth.
All spiritual paths lead to the same place.
