I read the secret, it repulsed me alright. What utter nonsense.
Since the "secret tells us that everything that happens to us is a direct result of our thoughts does this mean that a 12 year old who is raped really was wishing for this? or how about a 3 year old land mine victim.

Trash for the brainless masses.

Yeah, the law of attraction is utter rubbish - like the poor attracting the poor - do you think people want to be poor, or disadvantaged, etc etc.
There may be some good things, to 'the Secret' - but with the crap that's there - I would rather steer clear.
Oprah goes for it, in a big way - just goes to show how little she really knows.. and yes, it does conflict with Christianity.
If Christianity was working, there would be no need for 'the Secret'. The secret is, that the secret is trash...

It is hardly spiritual, when people use 'it' to gain material stuff, and wealth, etc.

For you biblical types, perhaps you'd glean more satisfaction from the bestseller "The Prayer of Jabez" by Bruce Wilkinson, (president and founder of Walk Thru the Bible Ministries in Atlanta).

It's along the same lines as the Law of Attraction but it's written with Christians in mind.

The Law of Attraction, BTW, is based on many biblical sayings, such as:

- Ask and ye shall receive
- Seek and ye shall find
- The Lord helps those who help themselves
- What you sew, so shall you reap

It's not a new Oprah thing! It's as old as Jesus. And the new LOA books and tapes have simply removed the religious content in order to appeal to a larger, secular audience.

Don't throw the bible out with the bath water!

The law of attraction happens to be false.

If it were true then electrons would attract other electrons and heterosexuals would be a minority (with the biggest moral issue today being whether to allow straight marriage).
