They don't work as well when I use them as balls as when I use them for the pins. They aren't generally round enough and I can't throw them hard enough.

Well yes. I'm a Muslim and I am a member, in fact the treasurer for this Bowling Club over here. The head of that club is a Christian and my many fellow players are Christians. I don't know what's the big deal. Maybe you being an Atheist might have some issues with a few of them but otherwise I find them very friendly and kind. we don't talk abt our faith when we are playing.

Why not go? If someone invited you, they thought enough about you to ask you to go. It could be a lot of fun. There probably wouldn't be a lot of time for awkward moments, being that bowling is a very active sport. You just might find that Christians CAN have fun, without beating you over the head with a 90 pound Bible! <*)))><

Bowling With Christians? Sounds like a game show.
I've gone bowling with Christians before, and trust me, they swear at a 7-10 split as well as any atheist.

Only with the ones that are not fanatics. Those talk the whole day about God and most Christians depending on the religion praise the lord (screaming) in the streets. Make sure that they are calm people with manners and not fanatics. You tell them that there is a time for everything and now is time to go bowling. lol

If you love to bowl just do it! Its easy to ignore what people say...or just pass it off!
I don't think that I have ever been criticized or swayed while out with other people...
Think of it this way, it cant be any worse for you to go and have fun then it is for a single woman at a bar getting hit on...She still goes out because its fun even if she doesn't like the attention from the opposite sex!
Who knows tho maybe that's Y its so easy for women to pass comments off like they were never said!

I'm an Atheist and I've gone bowling with Christians before. I just froze whenever the topic of religion came up and they got the hint.

My Christan friends and I love to take atheists bowling. We have them lay in the gutter when the little Christian children bowl, so that our kids don't have to worry about gutter balls. Of course, I'm not much up for praying that God intervene in a game of bowling. I love you, Son, but do a good deed and help those folks out. Make sure your head is toward the pins so you can see the ball coming and protect your important "parts." =)

No, I wouldn't, but perhaps it's because I have had bad experiences before with this issue.
I have a neighbour who is a wonderful woman, her whole family is just great, but she's a Christian and won't let me forget it.. I hear all the time about the wonders of God and Jesus is great..and please come to church with us on Sunday.
If I so much as say one good thing happened and tell her about it.. it's Oh! Jesus is good, God is Great..
And no, she doesn't stand on street corners yelling the word, she's just a regular person, but she's trying to convert me and I would feel awkward going bowling with her and friends.
But that is just my experience, you should see for yourself, it may turn out to be a great time.

Ahhhh, go ahead and go bowling with them. You'lll have a good time and they most likely won't be bringing up their Religion at all. Christians are regular folks too, and love to do many of the same things that you do.

No but I went bowling with an atheist and an agnostic.
The atheist didn't arrive because he didn't believe that he would fit in; and the agnostic went home, because he couldn't choose a pair of shoes.
