I just read a book called 'Bowling Alone' by Robert D. Putnam, about the loss of Social Capitol in America. It may be changing my life somewhat. I always felt obliged to be involved in various social activities, but never understood how important it really is.
I'm moderately sociable, but there's a cussedness in me that would like sometimes to just 'opt out' of getting together with people. It can be emotionally draining. But now I see that we have lost a good deal of our community in the past forty years, and we need to get it back, or America could be in trouble. So...
People matter.
More than ever.

I want my family and friends to know how precious they are to me. I was a working single mother for most of my children's tender years. I am a good cook, but while I watched their nutrition, many meals were thrown together. I told my children, who of course are now grown, that I would never pass up an opportunity to feed them a tasty meal, any time, day or night. They have held me to my word, and I sometimes find myself cooking at 2:00am, after one of them or more has spent a night on the town. Sometimes, they bring a friend. I keep a few of my specialties in my freezer, and I have become accomplished at quick-thawing a steak without affecting the quality of the taste. They don't over do it, and it is always a great family time.

"Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."
It seems that God will need to intervene or our dehumanizing, pro-technocracy, anti-natural, anti-environment, anti-freedom "tower of babel" may destroy the world.
Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"
I feel we are in the "last days" before God has to intervene! Is the return of Jesus imminent?
I plan to ask this as a question in the next 15 minutes...
Does any one care any more? Where is this world heading? Are Faith, morals, caring and humanity spiralling downward?

Here are a few:
That all Americans are granted the same rights (that's why I belong to the ACLU)
That corporations are taking over our media, limiting our access to news that doesn't serve a corporate agenda (that's why I contribute to Pacifica Radio, KPFK)
Our environment and "the commons" (that's why I belong to the NRDC)
Women's reproductive health and access to birth control (that's why I support Planned Parenthood)
Animal/pet health and welfare (that's why I support the ASPCA)
Those are just a few things that matter to me....

What matters to me is that I be able to go to bed tomorrow morning after work with the assurance that I did the best I could with what I had. If God wants me to do better, He can give me more to work with.

"A" each and every little thing/all human beings is "here" for a reason. each and every little thing is declared in some way. What impacts one impacts the different. The techniques wherein some issues are affected could seem insignificant. yet that does no longer propose that each and every individual is insignificant.

It matters to me if my parents have what they need as they are both retired and living on a fixed income. I will not have them make the choice of their medicines or other needs such as food or pellets for the stove to keep them warm - if it comes to that I will get what they need.

What a lovely way to fall asleep posing a question as you did.
You'd wake up to some lovely answers.

You have today to thank, for goodness sakes. You have today to believe for the greater good. You have today to forgive those who have betrayed you. You have today to love and feel love for what it could (unseen). You have today to become peaceful within the choices you choose, the changes you advance to and the knowledge to pursuit the gift of today as the giver of yesterday. You are loved and by no means---afraid to become great, as God knows best, that you will!
