We fear no particular religion. We simply cringe at the absurdities and cruelties in the Abrahamic religions no less or more with islam over christianity. Just depends on each persons approach to religion, the more fundamentalist one is, the more frightening they are to people of rational mind.

They usually do not fear it. You must see the movie "9 Rota", a Russian movie. It shows how young energetic men fought bravely against the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. It also showed Soviet Soldiers from Muslim Regions (Turkmen SSR, Chechnya) fighting bravely against the Mujahideen.

In the Afghan War, neither the Soviets won, neither did the Mujahideens. But there sure was one loser, in a far far away land.

So I don't think atheists fear any religion. They just fear the predicament of them believing in God someday!

But yes, since my core principles and those of Islam are fundamentally opposed*, and I would be happier if there were no religion on the planet, it's clear that some branches of Islam would see me as an enemy. By their theology, they would be correct to do so.
That doesn't stop me treating Muslims with respect (for their humanity, rather than for their beliefs).


*My creed stops with "There is no God." rather than the longer Islamic assertion.
