If Global Warming is such an imminent threat and we need to do everything to combat that why is the primary Global Warming Activist Al Gore doing nothing?
I'm all for recycling and changing lightbulbs and doing what I can here but he's asking us to walk to work and things like that but he's not even trying to live up to the standards he's demanding of us.
He takes a private jet(which puts out 4x the carbon emissions of normal aircraft) and his home uses 10x the energy of any other home in his state?
I'm not trying to be a basher here I'm simply just not understanding how someone can preach so hard about something to everyone else and do nothing in his own life?

When I said he uses 10x the normal amount I was wrong I appologize, its actually 20x.
For those who want to know where I got my data here's the numbers.......
Al Gore's mansion located in Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the avg house uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES). .The avg household consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Dept of Energy.
In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh--more than 20x the national average. Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-- more than twice the electricity in one month than an avg family uses in an entire year. Gore's energy consumption has increased from an avg of 16,200 kWh/mth in 2005, to 18,400 kWh/mth in 2006.
Gore also owns a private jet. To fly a private jet from LA to Washington would burn about as much petroleum as driving a Hummer for a year. During the period Jan 99 to Dec 00, Al made 16 flights on private jets.

It shows how much Gore really believes that humans are behind global warming. I don't care who you are, if you truly buy into man being behind global warming, you wouldn't do the things he does. That would be like me saying that I believe hunting is wrong and that we should not kill animals, but in my free time I hunt. I don't understand why people believe that Gore is such an authority on the subject. Where are his qualifications? He is only going on what others have told him. He doesn't have a degree in any of the fields of science. Besides, every day new evidence is uncovered that shows man made global warming to be nothing more than a hoax. The bottom line is that if Gore what to be credible, he will practice what he preaches. Until then, he is a total loon in my book.

Wow. Look at all the sheep!!!
Al Gore's house does NOT have solar panels. He excused the excess by the bogus claim of intending to install them, but he could not, and now has lobbied to have the local ordinance changed so he can.
It is a ploy and a joke. "Hey look everybody, I installed solar panels that contribute 0.01% of my electricity use, so I am legit now!!!"
I just wonder if some of these people are lying or do they really believe any little tidbit rumor they hear to support their twisted view of the God Algore.

Thank you Crabby was wondering if anyone actually did the reserch to show the original "facts" where wrong. Now to the point...The fact that the Nobel was awarded to Al Gore is great in my opinion as he has done so much for the cause. If he had never been a Dem. VP. or even involved with politics for that matter...all of the RIGHTWING "conservitives" (Rep.) and us "LIBERALS" would all be agreeing that he should have received it. For once folks put politics and your illusion of goverment asside and congradulate the man for stregthening a movement that hopefully will allow our children to have a better earth. I'm no "treehugger" I hunt and fish and have witness first hand deforestation for housing.
We all learn in school as children that the plants and trees give us oxygen put 2+2 together Lesser trees = lesser oxygen also for the folks who think all the ozone talk is BS look into it yourself compare today with 50 yrs ago.the data is out there............by the way it was intependent.

Look at where the emissions are coming from. Al Gore's uses green energy, except for his jet. I never knew he had a jet. His part is a drop in the bucket.
The emission we should all worry about come from the industrialization of the west in the past and the future industrialization of the third world.

Al Gore does not own a jet, nor any other airplane.

The question is, who has been lying to you? And more importantly, why? And who paid them to do it?
Second point: global warming is NOT about reducing energy use. It's about reducing carbon emissions. If you can use more energy in a carbon-free way, good for you. If you can offset your carbon emissions by planting trees, building wind generators, installing solar panels, or anything else, good for you. If you can pay other people to plant trees or build wind generators, good for you. Al Gore does the last option: he pays for wind and solar energy that he does not himself use. He has also installed 33 solar panels on his roof to generate 6264 KwH of carbon-free electricity per year. So his carbon footprint is neutral.
Is yours?

Show me the money. Al has made millions peddling misinformation, because he can. The main stream media won’t call him on any of those issues, and to add insult to injury he has won the noble peace prize.
Your quite right about Mr. Gore, he is a hypocrite.

the nobel peace prize has thus proved itself this year to be nothing more than a political stunt aimed at pleasing the liberals. But we all know that the liberals never win. They try so hard on so many issues and in the end, they just always lose. People are a lot smarter than liberals think....and smarter than liberals.

I think Al Gore did not deserve the Nobel Prize. He doesn't practice what he preaches. I don't think it's right for him to just pay Carbon Tax. Money doesn't cure his emissions.

I find it amusing that almost everyone who calls Al Gore a hypocrite is, indeed, hypocritical themselves. They attack Gore because they're opposed to his political dogma, or because they're too arrogant, ignorant, cowardly, selfish, egotistical, greedy, and self-centered to accept the fact that they, too, have contributed to the global warming problem that now threatens our very existence.
I have personally seen Al Gore on a commercial flight from New York City flying COACH, along with what I assumed to be a contingent of three Secret Service agents.
It's my understanding (although I cannot prove it as fact) that Gore's home is powered by solar energy.
Regardless of Gore's circumstances, he has been an avid messenger for what the scientific community considers to be a serious threat to the planet. Why kill the messenger? Instead, why not devote your energies and skills to trying to help resolve this issue before it becomes a global disaster? In fifty years, your grandchildren or great-grandchildren will crawl up on your lap and ask, "Grandpa, what did you do to curb the global warming issue?" As they smile at you through their gas mask (which they'll need in order to breathe fresh air), WHAT WILL YOUR ANSWER BE?
"Gee, honey, I didn't like Al Gore so I did nothing to protect or preserve the world for future generations."
"Gee, Honey, I didn't want to give up my gas-guzzling SUV or Hummer just so that you could enjoy a better quality of life."
"Gee, Honey, I was just too damned lazy, arrogant, stupid and selfish to be inconvenienced with trying to REduce, REuse and REcycle."
"Gee, Honey, I didn't give a damn about the polar bears or remote Eskimo tribes, or caribou, or elephants, or tsetse flies, or rain forests, or oceans, or millions of species of insects, or mangrove forests, or clean water, or trees, or coral reef, or polar ice caps, or exotic frogs from the Amazon basin, or wetlands, or dolphins, or giant pandas. They had no direct affect on my life. I was much more concerned with my plush green lawn, my luxury cars, my vacation resort, my country club membership, my investment portfolios, and my American Express gold card. Sorry you're living in such squalor just because I squandered all of the Earth's resources."
