It sounds as if he is more protective of you now. It seems to be a good thing. My BF acted the same after he proposed. I noticed no difference.
I don't mean to be rude but you might want to rethink your excessive use of the word "like".

I don't exactly know what you are talking about; however, when my fiance proposed (a couple months back) he acted no differently at all. No man, other than your real father, should act like a father to you. He really doesn't have a right to do that. He is your fiance -- not your father. Please, keep that in mind. If he changed, there may be something else going on. You really should talk to him. Just because you are engaged doesn't mean that he should suddenly turn into a different person. Talk to him. I think something is up. Like I said, mine didn't change.

It sounds like he is insecure, and in fact, may have proposed to "close the deal."
Are you comfortable with the relationship? Is this truly what you want? Perhaps he is picking up on ambivalence. However, if you have been nothing but committed, your guy may be insecure at best and possessive at worst. Watch this carefully, as possessiveness may be the precursor to abusiveness.
At the very least, sit down and have a heart to heart with him. You don't want an insecure, smothering "father." And I am sure he doesn't want to be one (or at least one can hope!).
Good luck, and remember, you should only marry if you're sure. There is NO shame in realizing this is NOT it.

Yes, and it was a bad thing in my case. After my ex-husband proposed/ we married, he became very possessive and slightly abusive. A few months into the marriage he became more verbally abusive and very mentally abusive and I had to leave...
He thought that as a wife it was my duty to be subservient, but he was ok with my independence when we were just dating... so it could be a bad or good thing- it really depends on the guy and the situation... I just hope that your fiance has changed for the better, not the worse.
