Ok, my partner was abused from the age or 8 until 16 when he finally moved out of home by his mothers boyfriend, he was psychally and mentally abused but not sexually. His mother never did anything about it and pretty much told him that he deserved it, the same thing happened to his other brother who eventually moved out and now we have found out the same thing is happening to his other 14 year old brother, i find it totally wrong, her whole household is screwed up, the 14 year old and his gf live in a bungalow out the back and the rest of the kids live inside, there uncle who smokes marijuana lives there and they drink every single weekend to excess (im talking about underage drinking, drinks supplied by the mother).. I just can not understand how this can go on. Do I have the right to ring Welfare or Childrens Services about the abuse that is going on? Im in Australia if that helps. Thankyou for any answers!

I also need to add, my problem with child support is that they have been there before and that she was called by them telling her she was going to come, so she pressured the kids into lying for her, which they did. It is a sad situation and i want it fixed badly. Is it also possible to stay anonymous with child support as I do not want repercussion coming back onto me, I for one have already been assulted by this woman, which caused her partner to loose all contact with her, i just dont want to make anything worse than it is.

You absolutely have a right to report it. Furthermore, you have a moral responsibility to do so. Turning a blind eye is not going to help anyone. Gods! This is not rocket science - you're polling for opinions when someone is getting hurt.

Call!

Call child welfare!

Call the police if you know they are over there drinking right now!

if you don't report it you are just as guilty! and the law sees it this way too...anytime a child is being abused it is our responsibility to report it.
do it now and yes you do not have to give your name.
please help the children and get this woman her dues...in jail.
God bless
