I have 3 credit cards and I think about using one of them per month.

Even if you pay your entire balance in full each month it does not mean that these accounts will be reported with no balances. Your due date and the date when your creditor reports your account to reporting agencies is not the same. If your creditor reports your account a few days before you pay it off your entire balance will be reflected on your reports.

Keeping credit cards without using them is a bad idea. After a while your account becomes a burden for a creditor since they still have to maintain it while making no profit of it. If your account stays inactive for too long the creditor may close it and put a remark "Closed by credit grantor". This remark is considered to be slightly negative and may affect your credit score.
In order to keep your relationship with banks mutually beneficial you need to give them a bone and once in a while keep a little balance so they could charge you a little interest.

Make sure that whenever you pay them off that you pay them off in full (so that your credit balance on all of them is zero).

Avoiding interest is a good idea, especially at the interest rates credit cards charge (and also a good way of keeping your credit score up).

It's best to use all 3 to keep your accounts active. Having revolving balances will raise your credit score.

It is better to use all three a little bit each month, and pay it all off every month. It will bring your credit score up faster than not using them.

anamaradancer is correct. It is best to use each of them a little bit each month and then pay them off in full, preferably before the grace period is up to avoid any interest charges.
