I don't think it's bi polar because i'm quiet and i don't go on about crazy stuff. But this pattern happens all the time. I would feel incredible down like i want to die for 1-2 weeks then i start feeling okay again, then i start feeling happier with hope that things will be find. I feel good for a couple days then okay. After that i'm down again feeling super lousy and it takes another 1-2 weeks to get out of the slump. It's been repeating like that for years.

Possibly bi polar. I use to go back and forth between thinking i can accomplish anything to thinking i'm the biggest loser on earth. But i never said or did crazy stuff, and now a days i don't have as much time when i feel i can accomplish anything just very low energy time. I used to think the motivational tapes were making me feel high.

First of all, I am not a doctor, so what I have to say is merely my personal opinion, and definitely NOT medical advice. Recent advances in mental health research have discovered a second kind of bipolar disorder classified, (imaginatively enough), as Bipolar II. It is characterized by mostly depressive periods punctuated by instances of hypomania, which is less intense than the classic definition of mania. So this would be one possibility. Alternately, you might simply (so to speak) be experiencing recurrent bouts of major depression. Either way, you need to get to a doctor ASAP. Severe recurrent depression, as well as bipolar disorder, are very real medical conditions that usually can be treated with success. Good luck.

wow, thats kinda how I am.
there may be a few days where I am happy and optimistic about life and then maybe the next few days I am depressed and feel like I am useless. Its not just having a bad day or something. There may be a day where nothing goes wrong but I still feel down and like there is no use in living. Then the net day I may feel like I am so glad to be living.
I thought that I was just weird that way but...

Most likely it IS bi-polar. You don't have to do "crazy" things to be BP, that only happens in extreme cases. See a MH professional. Or, you can take the natural approach- it has worked for many people. Link below.

Unless the changes are more sudden and more extreme, you are right that it is probably not bi-polar. You could have something as simple as hormone deficiencies that are affecting your mood. I had the same problems for years and this is what it turned out to be.

I started feeling that way recently! I thought it was hormonal. I'm not sure though... years is a long time! If it is hard to deal with or getting worse you should get some help maybe.

I have the same type of symptoms sometimes. It could be manic depression and is precedent for seeking medical attention. You should schedule an appointment with your doctor this week, I'll do the same.
