to be honest, i don't see problems.
what is, is.
what was, was.
what is going to be, is going to be.
we're just a little tiny blip. a speck. a single grain of sand on the vast expanse of beach known as the omniverse.
one day, our sun will run out of fuel, expand like mad as it kicks into hyper drive, and swallow this pathetic little grain of dust we call earth. and no god, Buddha, or Allah will matter one little bit then.
so enjoy what you can while you can, and try not to be to much of a dick along the way.
soooooo, i know i didn't answer your question, and I'll do so now....
i only need to do 1 thing to fix the "world's problems"
step one: eradicate human race.
done.

Greed and racism
EDIT: I agree somewhat with Marshall - the feminist movement has brought many negative side-effects to our "modern" society.
An interesting thing to note about the feminist movement is that because of the huge numbers of women now in the workplace, jobs have been created to provide the jobs that mothers traditionally used to fill: babysitting, various types of household duties, child care, etc....
Also, now it is becoming harder and harder for families to live off of one income, whereas in the past the father's income was usually sufficient...
I think women would be OK with the traditional role of being a stay-at-home mother if the men were all doing their jobs right, and were treating the women right, and if society was safe and doing well.
But nowadays of course most women are out in the workforce. To be honest, a lot of the divorce happening is a result of the greater % of women in the workforce. 50 years ago was the divorce rate so high? Isn't there some correlation? It's easy to be attracted to the varnish shining out there...
So anyway, there are some issues there. I do believe that women and men should complement each other, and that everyone should have the opportunity to get an education and help society in the way they can best do so.
OK, enough from me... good night everyone.

1)People with Marshal_jed's thought process would get a better education.
*It doesn't even have to be formal education yet something that allows for broader views of the world.
Lack of education is the root of ignorance.
Ignorance is the root of hate.

Seriously.

Yes seriously because now we have become a 2 income world. It is nearly impossible to devote the proper amount of time to your children, instead we let strangers bring them up in little kiddie farms. I'm not saying women belong in the home, I'm just saying that since the advent of the 2 income family children have suffered without proper parenting and now have grown up to be problem adults.
I purposely left my answer short to see the reactions. HMMM some group of spiritual people did not even stop to think about why that may have been my answer. Immediately I was a bigot or idiot. Your answers are all so predictable. Proof that you are incapable of thought. Hypocrites.

Ignorance is the root of all evil. So enlightenment is the solution to everything. That's why the Internet will help to take care of things.
