Hello, I have a packet of 100 questions about the Vietnam War. But I can't find the answer to several of them. If you could please just help me answer at least one of them (or all!) that would be great. Thanks! ps. these q's are not in the order they were originally written, I just wrote them that way. just so you know that some q's don't correspond the previous q.

1. What was the initial public sentiment regarding U.S. involvement in Vietnam?

2. What did Nixon believe would be the consequences of immediate U.S. withdrawal from the Vietnam?

3. What specific events did Nixon cite to support his arguments against "precipitate troop withdrawal"

4. What is meant by the "silent majority" (i know who they are but the answe doesn't seem complete.)

5. What did John Kerry believe about the alleged threat that North Vietnam posed to the U.S.?

6. What did John Kerry believe were the results of Nixon's policies, as spelled out in the silent majority speech?

Thank You all!

i am going to organize this entire vietnam war for you.from the 1950's, the vietminh were a threat and president eisenhower refused direct involvement or to nuke it as he was being pressured to do by the u s senate.
during president kennedy's administration, the advisors in saigon were under attack and we still stayed out.one whole month prior to kennedy's assasination on a weekend on the famous 'huntley and brinkley news hours', the president was in the rose garden plainly stating that he is going to pull all 16 thousand of our advisors out of vietnam as the coup was taking place at that very moment as president diem of south vietnam was assasinated.
as soon as president lyndon johnson took office, his closet friends in the pentagon started buying up stock in corporations that had no contracts and the stock was dirt cheap.
the big scene was a supposedly north vietnamese boats firing on two u s destroyers and soon, the army was send in one division while the marines landed at danang, president johnson told the nation that this is a police action and the united nations asked us to help(this is the truth).
the war just escalated then and got bigger as president johnson would not listen to his military experts and decided to micromanage this himself, even picking and selecting the actual bombing targets in north vietnam.in 1968, the president fired general william westmorland and shortly afterwards, sec of defense robert mac'namara resigned.
president richard nixon came into office, inheriting a very angry country, an economy built on massive overtime on the job, racial tension over the destruction of the promised war on poverty and a split house of representatives on how to disengage from fighting in vietnam, the silent majority wanted us out under honorable conditions, young people first getting involved in politics such as john kerry were unknowns , the what is known as the old guard was still running the show, that is political and military veterans of world war two and korea and they were not about to give up unless there was a surrender, so our president had to do his best for this country and talk out of both sides of his mouth, the left hand never knowing what's up the sleeve of the right hand, carried out the largest massive bombings in history, surpassing bomb drops in tonnage of world war two, finally the government of north vietnam had had enough and signed in paris, france

1. For
2. He never told me.
3. He did not tell me that either.
4. Voters
5. John Kerry violated art. 104 of the UCMJ (look it up). A crime punishable by death, who gives a rats butt what he thinks. He is a lying sack of water buffalo dung. (Opinions of the 17 Vietnamese I know that lived or fought thru the entire war) My friends would like to know which villages were burned, which of their relatives were raped, etc etc, etc.
6. John Kerry again is a lying sack of water buffalo dung. His attempt to replicate President Kennedy's military experience backfired. You do know he socialized with President Kennedy during JFK's Presidency. Why do you think he put himself in for a Purple Heart as a result of of a round HE fired from a M-79 grenade launcher. He was trying to build his image. Who gives a rats butt what he thinks.
