The Bible says a rightous man will even treat his own animals well, but even the blessing of an evil man is cruel.
I do not think you're friend is exactly right, but God told Noah right after he got off the ark that we can eat animals. Animals do suffer, and if you enjoy making an animal suffer, you will probably enjoy seeing a human suffer as well. I do not enjoy seeing animals suffer, but I am not against killing them for certain reasons. Hunting is something many people enjoy, but even then, the thrill is not to see the animal suffer and die, but to kill in one shot (a quick as possible death), and aquiring food or a trophy. Pest control is very important as well. Most wild animals carry some kind of sickness, and they also may attack, so they need to be scared off or killed sometimes. They also vandalize property, and must be killed, because they are wild animals that cannot be reasoned with. In the Bible, man is given dominion over all the earth and its life, but that does not mean we should abuse it.

I'm a Christian, and I agree with some of the others here that have answered. Are humans "better" than other creatures, yes, but not their bullies either. Your friend has an ego problem and needs help. Whether a creature has an after life or not is neither reason, nor excuse to kill it, just to kill it. Abuse is just as wrong as any other sin. If he has this superiority complex, not unlike that of the Nazi's, and other self proclaimed higher order beings, he needs help, because he isn't nearly as exalted as he would like to believe that he is, or humans as a general course. He is quite wrong, and needs a good dose of humility, which by what you say here, he seems to lack.

The Bible teaches that man can eat other animals and even says to.
If animals are = to humans, then, why would God put them in our food supply?
You are right. Every living thing has feeling.
I kill any insect that comes in my place of living or bothers me while I eat.
I am a Christian and feel the way your friend does but I cannot deny that you are right too.
My philosophy is that if they land on me or bother me, they will die and I have killed thousands perhaps millions.
The Bible says, in Exodus 20th chapter, You should not murder. This was for humans and their living property. You can find out more about this by reading the book of Leviticus. Warning: It is a list of laws and the reading is boring.

He is WRONG. Everything is his creation so it should be treated with respect. Does that mean we shouldn't kill animals to have food? No, but we should not just kill them for the sake of killing them. We shouldn't torture them. How about hunting for sport like killing a deer and putting the antlers on your wall? This is a gray area but I personally don't have a problem with it. I'm not against women wearing fur coats or eating at KFC. We should of course be aware of endangered species. Just remember that God created everything from the human to the ant. Do ants have souls? I don't think so. Does God love you more than an ant? Yes. Does God care about ants? Yes he does. So don't go poking them with needles. Instead, admire their admirable traits like their diligence and strength and apply those to your life.

No. He is actually self-justifying himself.
God does indeed hold compassion for us, but God also acknowledges that people are always be corrupt in behaviour (everything we touch gets destroyed pretty much).
His attitude is also unChristian-like. He talks about God's creation as if we humans were given control over all life. That's not true.
Just because he says he is "Christian" doesn't mean he behaves like one. Especially when he doesn't show the love, and seems inconsiderate of other people's behaviour and thoughts into account.

Well he's rather cold hearted. I'm sorry, but any person of a religion that claims it's about love would not kill anything cold heartedly.
Geez, I feel bad if I accidentally squish one, and the rare occasions they have made themselves a nuisance in the house and I was forced to get the Raid. Yup us non believers (yeah, sorry for answering) are just so empty of all love aren't we.
Edit: I tell you, it is exactly that type of personality who came to the (now called) U.S. and did what they did to the original people here.

Ok he needs to get off his high horse and come down to reality. We are not on the top of the food chain. Who are we to say that God didn't make other types of creatures on different planets. Are we so self conceited that we think that God made this awesome universe and only inhabited one planet. Give me a break. Also if other animals thought like him it would be an all out war between man and nature. He is Wrong... very wrong

You should be less concerned about his religion and more concerned about his character. Anyone who acts like that is a tyrant. God gave man AUTHORITY over animals and earth. With authority comes responsibility. We are in charge. Just a doctor is in charge of a hospital doesn't mean that she can go and kill innocent people and write graffiti on the walls. I'd make different friends if I were you.

Well your friend probably doesn't know how to read his bible very well. Yes humans are superior to animals, insects, and plants, but we are not supposed to kill for sport. If that insect or animal threatens our life than yes we may kill it in order to save ourselves. Otherwise we only should kill them for food and the makings of medicines for our healing. No longer do we need to sacrifice an animal to God since God himself sacrificed his only son Jesus for Us.

I'm not Christian, but I have to tell you, your friend is wrong. Very wrong.
No matter how small or seemingly indifferent something is, it makes a difference to the world, no matter how big the difference is.
Also, your friend killed an ant, which means hes a murderer.
You don't want a murderer for a friend, do you?
