Number One: You cannot get out of your enlistment to join another service.
Number Two: The man was right Chesty Puller would be rolling out of his grave to kick you right in the pants.
Number Three: Even if you could get out of the Marines, you would not be eligible for the $50K bonus.
Number Four: Finish your enlistment because no other service would want a quitter.
Number Five: For the REAL MARINES that answer this question. SEMPRE FI, MARINES.

Okay, everyone quit doggin' on the kid. It ain't gonna help. No, you can't get out early, sorry. And I wouldn't join the Army from the Marines, it's almost exactly the same thing! (As told to me by a former Marine who joined the Army.) Besides, you'll want to be able to introduce yourself as a FORMER Marine, not an EX-Marine. Do yourself a favor and don't screw this up. It'll only last a few more years, that's nothing. The Corps ain't horrible, they're just a different breed. Count all the good memories and quit focusing on the crappy part of it, and don't forget to laugh at all the stupid stuff. Just enjoy your time as a Devil Dog. E-mail me if you forget to laugh.

If you get a signing bonus, you will need to finish your contract or a) you won't get all the bonus...it is usually paid out over time, according to when you enlisted and the final payment is usually not given til the end of your enlistment and b) if you did get out before the end of the enlistment you would have to pay back some or all of the bonus you already revcieved, regardless of if you had spent it or not.
If you are trying to work the system just for the bonus money, don't. Joining the Marines is not something done for money..it is done for pride, dedication and a sense of duty to one's country and one's self. Joining just to get the bonus makes me think you may have a tough time just getting through basic!

no, and no. all contracts are for 8 years as many as 6 years will be on AD and considered your first term. you can't just quit half way through for any old reason. not every Army job has a bonus, and your status as a Marine would have ZERO impact on whether or not you qualify for one.

if your going to quit something, don't start it and this goes for the marine corps, they hate quitters. Why not just join the navy or the air force, then if you want to quit, you might be allowed to do that, but not the marines. You enlist in the marines, you had better see it through and not pussy out.
Better yet, why not go join the armed forces in the United Kingdom, they might allow you to quit one branch and join another.

what the hell do you think NO you can not quit the Marine Corps before the end of your contract.
No one put a gun to your head and made you join, and no one is forcing you to stay. If you hate it that much do me and every other devil dog a favor and go UA. just be prepared to accept the consequences and repercussions of your actions

Saylorkc positioned it maximum succinctly. So do heed that advice. My upload on in this. while i replaced into his age i for my area had no clue as to what i had to do. yet i mandatory to get all started in some way so I joined. It replaced right into a determination of school (which i replaced into no longer relatively waiting for), staying at homestead and doing regardless of job or entering into. i will upload in that my mom who replaced into an Air stress spouse replaced into attempting to impression me and informed me if I joined the army i wouldn't in any respect quantity to something...... she perplexed the full concern together with her involvement. It made me experience like a mommies boy. I joined. I have been given away and found out lots. foodstuff, clothing, housing and being away taught me independence. I earned a level (militia paid for it) and a few severe rank. I even have not opted to retire yet yet once I do i will make a kit with the government or a contractor. whether your son does in simple terms 4 years it relatively is going to look solid on a resume. he will have a feeling of delight fairly than consistently ask your self approximately "what if" he had joined. i'm now having those conversations with my son. I stay out of it except he asks. My stance is that in case you're undecided what you opt to do exactly connect the militia and bypass from there. If he desires to bypass to college great as i'm able to discover the money for it. I disuade him from desirous to be me.... years and years of try against and being faraway from homestead. And if he feels a ought to bypass and then be sure what to do... i'm in the back of him. I even have reminded him that there are a number of amenities and many jobs. no ought to connect the infantry. He desires to look forward. The Marines I delight in yet possibly lower back a diverse job and repair may be suitable. All situations are diverse. yet there is no draw back for a youthful guy who is familiar with no longer what to do becoming a member of. that's a step in the splendid direction. evaluate besides. You lower back him on no longer satisfying his responsibilities sends a sparkling message to the extra youthful guy.

Quit is most definitely NOT in a REAL MARINES vocabulary! You make me sick you little puke. You just going to quit everything in life if it gets too hard? I think your not even a Marine yet, cuz if you were, you would know that Marine is always capitalized!! Go away, I don't want you in my beloved Corps to begin with.
