What does the religion, music, food and skin color of have to do with illegal immigration? Not a damn thing but is is constantly brought up on this forum with everybody jumps in. The majority of the antis here are racists and if it were not politically incorrect they would bash Blacks as well, and then we have the ones who are against illegals except the ones they are sleeping with.

Nothing. We talk of All Illegals within our borders, and that doesn't make us racists.

However, to point out that the main stream media (CNN Lou Dobbs) focuses on one particular group, the Mexicans. And that makes them the racists. If only he would cover all the other illegals in this country as well.

My new guy for the issues (ALL the issues) is Rick Sanchez, CNN's Out In The Open news report.

In theory, nothing. But many of you anti-illegal-immigration fanatics come across as very racist in your arguments against illegal immgiration. For instance:

1. Many of you concentrate on illegal immigrants from Mexico. You never seem to acknowledge how many illegal immigrants from other countries there are. In fact, I've heard that most illegal immigrants are from Central American countries rather than Mexico.

2. Many of you seem to despise Mexico and all its citizens because there are so many Mexican illegal immigrants here in the U.S. Many of you seem to think that all Mexicans are criminals, terrorists, rapists, or child molesters, which is just plain stupid, but some people still say that.

3. Many people seem to assume that all hispaniic people are illegal aliens. They also seem to assume that anyone who speaks Spanish or who doesn't speak English fluently is an illegal alien.

4. Because there are so many illegal immigrants from Mexico, many people despise the influx of Mexican culture into the U.S. They despise Mexican culture and traditions and seem to think they should be illegal. But this is a free country and Legal immigrants bring in plenty of Mexican culture as well.

5. Many of you complain bitterly about how many products have labels in Spanish as well as English, and how many telephone menus say "press 1 for English", etc. These people argue that "they shouldn't have to press 1 for English becaue this is the U.S. and we speak only English here". As a result, they come across as very snobbish and sound like they think that speaking English makes them better than other people. They also fear that the U.S. will become a multi-lingual country, which can sound very racist. I don't see any problem with the U.S. becoming a multi-lingual country as long as English is still a major language (which it always will be-there are way too many English speakers here for any other language to replace it). There are many other countries with multiple official languages that are fine with it, and complaining about the presence of foreign languages makes one sound very snobbish and xenophobic. People blame illegal immigrants for introducing foreign languages but there are probably many legal immigrants who can speak English, but not especially well and find it helpful to have labels in their first language. This is especially true with telephone meus, because people are usually stressed out when they are calling customer service and would probably find it much easier to speak to a representative in their first language.

So, in general, racism has nothing to do with opposition to illegal immigration. But many opponents of illegal immigration come across as very racist and xenophobic in their arguments.

Nothing. It's just a moniker that the pro-illegal immigrants use as an excuse and to gain sympathy for law-breaking invaders! They think by crying RACIST that it will overshadow the true crimes they've committed and gain sympathy for them. Only place for sympathy in this case is between Sh_t and Syphillus in the Dictionary!

All the anger is directed toward Latinos. How often do people complain about or threaten to SHOOT white-skinned illegals?
