Can I get an extension on a case filled in CA court in 2001?

I think it was $3500 propety

1. I moved twice since then. 2. I filed the case and sent him a sumans via cert mail. He did not take it. I sent the sherif with the sumans and they said he was not there. What othe excuss can I use?

What have you been doing about it for 6 years? If you can prove that you haven't been given a reasonable amount of time to prepare for the case you might, but i don't see why any judge would allow it.
