You definately need to start saving up money to pay for this adventure. Its no use trying to get mom to say yes and then try to get her to pay for it too. Saving shows your commitment and your acceptance of it being your responsibility.

Also learn to take care of a new piercing either with the solution you get at Claire's or anti-bacterial soap. Showing your mom that you know how to care for a piercing and that you know how VERY important it is will help convince her.

Try presenting her permission as a reward, like if you get good grades or start doing a new chore (and then always do the chore) or even as a present for a special occasion.

Most importantly of all, always ask politely and be reasonable! Don't cry or throw a fit. You have to show you really want this and be mature about how you try to get it. Maturity, responsibility, and patience are the best way to get permission for things like this.

I just did mine when I was 14. Well actually I didn't ask my mum before piercing it. It was more of a last minute arrangement with my friends. But seriously, it hurt like **** and I don't know why too. Anyway when I got back home I just told her I had it done and she couldn't do anything about it anyway so just said COOL. Well how old are you now? Maybe you could let her know that you'd let it close up when you get older, and that you'd go to some certified jewellery store to get it done so it wouldn't have an infection or some deadly disease. Mothers are usually afraid of contracting diseases through the piercing tool.

talk to her and let her know you've thought it out, but always respect her choices. if you're older, like 17 over, i do not see a big problem in wanting to pierce your ear, your mom should give you the space. i'm 18 and i did my 3rd hole and cartilages without my mom's knowledge. she kinda flipped for a few seconds but she realized i'm growing up and can make my own decisions.

my mom did my second hole with me, so maybe you could convince her by getting a hole together. it could become 'your piercing', kinda like couple identities, just that this is a mother-daughter thing. it'll be a cool way to strengthen your relationship.

For my daughter, I let her get her first set of holes at age 13. I told her if she still wanted a second pair of holes, she could get them at 16, when slightly more mature about making such decisions.

Personally, I don't understand it, because I've never had any holes anywhere; I think some people try to drink a glass of water and I bet water leaks out of all those holes they've got.

Anyway, she did opt for the second pair of holes at age 16. She's 26 now, and has holes in her navel too, and a tattoo of a little heart in the small of her back. To each his own; you'd never catch me dead with holes or ink in my skin, but she seems to be happy, and if she's happy, I'm happy.

Hope this helps.

i have my ears pierced 5 times on each side. i asked my mom for my second piercing for my 13th b-day, and my 3rd for my 15th b-day. use that as an insentive. a b-day or a holiday present.

i have mine pierced and my mom actually got hers done with me...you should talk her into getting hers done...it doesnt hurt and and if you dont like it you can take it out and the hole grows back way quicker than your first hole...i love having mine done...i got it done when i was in the 7th grade and i am a senior in college and still enjoy it so i dont think your opinion will change on it. hope i helped.

1st: its just a piercing, you can take it out and let it heal [not that you would...], its not permanent. 2nd: make sure you like know what youre talking about so she feels that youre responsible. 3rd: pay for it yourself: it shows you care
