Red Ribbon is not connected to CANCER. I think you have asked this question wrongly under heading Cancer. However please note that -

The red ribbon, a ribbon colored red, has several different meanings in different contexts. Foremost, it is the symbol of solidarity of people living with HIV/AIDS.

AIDS awareness symbol.

The red ribbon is used internationally as a symbol of the fight against AIDS which first came to prominence at the 1991 Tony Awards. The red ribbon has been a powerful psychological component of AIDS, although it has recently declined in popularity.

Awareness ribbons have become part of our visual cultural vernacular. These ribbons enable an individual to show support of a cause or issue which is meaningful to them. All kinds of groups that rally around a health cause or support an issue identify their organization with a specific color ribbon. Due to the proliferation of this concept many causes share a color. Our logo is in fact comprised of many colored ribbons and adorns our celebrated line of ribbon riot tees and tanks.-
