A couple of weeks ago I had a dream that I was sitting outside of my house, and 2 cars drove by real slow. I saw the second guy, and he looked me in the eye, and then shot me. I moved, so the bullet only hit my hand, and as a result I lost a finger or two. The weird part was I felt a warmth and burning. I have never been shot in real life, but I swear that is what it would really feel like. This has really bothered me lately. What does this mean? Why did I dream this?

I didn't watch any movie where anyone was shot, recently. So, no that's not it. I even live in a good neighborhood, so that's not part of it either.

You'll be fine sweetie. You probably just slept on your hand thus the burning feeling. I had a dream I shot you...but a gun wasn't involved and your hand wasn't the target. ;-)

Wow! That's so freaky! My friends and I were just discussing that fact that I keep having a similar recurring dream. It had plagued me for about 2 years now. I seem to be able to remember these dreams. Any other dreams I have been having, I rarely remember them. Only my dreams of being shot. And, the perp changes quite often. At first I thought it might be because my brother was shot to death, but this was about 8 years ago. I have been looking to find something in the dream books about it. Here are a few interpretations I have come across. Do any of them fit your current situation? Or what you wish your situation to be? See in my dreams, it is either my ex husband, my ex boyfriend or an unknown assailant who shoots me. I figured it could be close to one of these meanings, however, in my dream, I always end up facing the person, and being shot repeatedly and still managing to overpower them. I don't know why it would keep being the same result. I figure I am trying to tell myself to hang on and not lose it. I am strong enough to face these challenges. Another odd aspect that is always present is the fact that I try so hard to dial 911, and either I can't dial it right, or it won't go through. I suppose this means I try getting help and receive none. I dunno, but it bothers me quite often as well.

Psychological Meaning: Freud tells us that guns represent male sexuality and shooting a gun is a symbol for ejaculation. It may also be saying that your plans are right on target and that you know what you are aiming for in life.

Mystical Meaning: If you dream of enjoying the shoot there will be good fortune but if you are filled with fear there will be difficulties. Shooting stars are universally regarded as good luck and their appearance in dreams is auspicious.

Other interpretation:

Shooting
Shooting someone or being shot yourself is a fearful and violent dream experience. It may reflect aggression,
powerlessness, release of strong and dangerous emotions, and/or symbolize a conclusive event in a particular
situation or relationship.

The gun in your dream could represent several different things, so please pay attention to the details and to the
mood of the dream. The gun could symbolize the male sex organ, aggression, harshness, and fear. This dream may
have sexual connotations, or your unconscious mind may be telling you not to harbor your negative feelings but
express them more freely before they become explosive. On the more positive side of things, the gun could simply
represent your need to protect yourself either emotionally or physically or both. If the gun in the dream is used to
hurt or kill you or someone else, please consider your current difficulties, hostile feelings or serious arguments,
which you may have within yourself or with others.

To dream that you are shot, represents a form of self-punishment that you may be unconsciously imposing on yourself. You may have done something that you are ashamed of or are not proud of.? If you are shot and come back as a different person, then it indicates that? you to start fresh. You want to wipe the past away and literally become a new person.

If you dream that your fingers fall off, then it suggests that you are letting a situation dominate you or dictate how you behave. You may be literally losing your grip on life.

To dream that your fingers are injured or have been chopped off, denotes your anxieties about your ability to accomplish some demanding task or perform in some waking situation.

hi. don't worry about getting shot in real life. this dream is symbolic.
i think it is referrring to something in your life that will/has come into your life and hurt you...
in the dream you see what is happenng before is happens and you move to avoid the brunt of it, although you still get a little hurt.
you fingers got injured which would suggest that you were injured in a way that doesn't affect you vital functioning but it will hinder your general dexterity and ability in finer motions until you are healed.
the fact that it happens in a 'drive-by' situation would suggest to me that its somethng that comes into your life and then out again- rather than hanging around
the fact that the guy looked you in the eye before shooting you would suggest that its personal - he knows you -
it would also suggest to me that it could be refering to a relationship.
my guess is that recently you have had two relationships with guys. the first came and went. the second also came and went - but not smoothly. you saw trouble coming- you saw you were going to get hurt. you acted wisely and moved out of danger (sheilded you heart perhaps) but you still got a little hurt. it may take you a little while until you are functioning perfectly again but chin up - it could have been far worse! you avoided major problems by acting wisely.
the pain felt real because it is symbolising some real pain that is currently in your life.

Many girls break up with their significant others, is because they need time to figure things out. Don't take it personally, if you want her back, you have to show her you can help her. If you love her then you'll let her go, that's it. Not everybody who you date in high school you end up staying with, the chances are extremely unlikely. So if she doesn't want to, then you need to let her go.

To fire a gun at someone in a dream represents someone tried to do something to you to wound you. It could be with words, action, intentions, and on and on. But to lose a couple of fingers represents that whoever was trying to wound you. The situation caused you to lose a "grip" on your emotions. Losing fingers represents losing a handle or grip on how to handle issues. By this happening, fear, stress, worry, anxiety, and other disturbing factors can creep into your life.
