I'm a junior in high school, and we had the chance to take the ASVAB test today, and I really didn't know what it was, but I decided that it would get me out of class, and everyone else was taking it, so I did too. And after I took the test, everyone was saying that if we passed, then we could be drafted. Is that true? Because, I had no idea that was what the test was for, nobody has ever told me that, and nobody told us that before we took it. So, my question is, if I took the test, and passed, does that mean that I will be drafted, even if I don't want to be?

Don't worry, you don't have to go and serve your country. Leave that up to the true Americans in the USA. That test you took tells the branches of service how smart you really are and can be used to join a branch of service. So do not get your panties in a wad.

No, there will be no draft. The ASVAB is a test the military gives to determine job placement for new recruits. However, the army recruiters will probably call you every other day till you graduate high school if you did well. This test does not have anything to do with a draft. If you think about joining the army after school, the recruiter will use your test results to show you what jobs you qualify for.

No, you will not be Drafted. The U.S. Does not have a draft.
But, The recruiters of the different services will be calling you to see if you are interested in joining the military. Not just the army, but all branches will be calling you.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. that is no basis for a draft in the least

the only way the ASVAB could even have the slightest effect on you being drafted is that if there ever is a draft (which there most definitely isn't now nor is one planned), if you were to utterly fail the ASVAB & they didn't think you were faking failing it, then they might decide not to draft you

there is not now, nor is there planned, a draft

We're all going to be drafted if you took the test or not. the test just sees if you are going to be infantry or something cool where you dont die as much. I scored in the 97 percentile when i took it a couple years ago. Too bad, i like to shoot people. we had to take it for some reason, wasnt optional.. probably so the teachers could sit around and do nothing all day.

LOL, LOL, LOL!!! no.. taking the asvab is not going to get you drafted! when you turn 18 you do have to sign the draft, but don't worry.. there is not going to be one. you will not be forced to join the military.

The US is currently not implementing the draft. We have an "all volunteer" military force.
