Most of the time it's because they're afraid they can't make it on their own because they've been treated like crap for so long that they think that's all they're worth. A girl in an abusive relationship has such low self esteem that they believe it's the best they can do and they feel it's better than being alone. It can take a LONG time for a girl to get over that and to trust themselves and other people enough to even make an attempt to get out of it. It also takes a lot of patience on a guy's part if he wants a relationship with a girl who has stayed with a guy who treated her like crap for a long time.

Sometimes they get scared that the might get beaten if they try to leave, and when a guy treats a girl like crap it lowers their confidence, so the girl probably thinks she can't do any better. But if you are wanting a girl that is in a relationship like that, try being REALLY nice to her, and tell her how awesome YOU can be. :)

For various very and I mean VERY stupid reasons. I have heard of cases in which they go way beyond the limit. I as wel as you don't understand what causes them to become so blind and so adicted to the guy when its so clear to see what an *** he is, but other ladies stick with their guy because they are forced to or have no choice, they're kinda scared, you know? Its rather sad but I think that they should toughen up and gather valor to prove what they're really made of! I guess it all depends on the person though. Luckily, I haven't expirienced this but I have witnessed it, its crazy. Well good luck figuring it out.** = ) **

Guys don't start off treating girls like crap you know, they work up to it and by then its hard to break it off.
I think its because of the confidence the mean guys have, girls love confidence.

It shouldn't be considered stupidity. Often times women who are inthese kind of realtionships have been either physically or even worse emotionally abused. I am a great mom of two wonderful little boys and not a bad looking person either. I had alot going for me then at one point had someone who emotionally abused me. You often don't realize what is being done to you until you are a point when the damage is done. Women are nurturers by nature and it often is a case of trying to make it work out for fear of failure. We are often taught by society that we are the ones who are to hold the family together. For those who call it stupidity don't judge unless you have walked in those shoes.

I think it is because these males make these women feels so bad and insecure that they really think that they cannot do any better. They are in such an insecure emotional state that they believe it when this person tells them you really cant do better than me.
It is all about the male dominating the female, and once this male gets control they use it and play with the females low self esteem.

Low self esteem. The need to be with someone, even if that someone mistreats them. They don't want to be alone, so they put up with a bad man, so they can say they have a man.
Some women, think they can change that man, for the better.

Cos the guys that abuse them somehow make them think they are @ fault..so the girls end up blamin themselves
In some cases, the guys tell d girls about some kinda trauma they faced when they were young or something like that, and afterwards when the guys maltreats them, they think they understand him and they start making up excuses for his behaviour e.g. some story like " oh, he's like that because his mom left him when he was young and he finds it hard to trust girls"
