I've heard many talk about innacuracies... can we know what the Bible says... and if God's words are so important, how do we know that we have them. Is there an every word Bible, and if not, how do we KNOW for a FACT which words are correct and which words are faulty? After all, His word is truth, and we are only made free when we KNOW the truth

Some contradictions within the biblical scriptures come from when the bible was put together as a collection.
363CE Council of Laodicea names 26 New Testament books as "inspired word of God"; Book of Revelation is excluded. It took another 25yrs for Revelations to OFFICIALLY be added.
At this council, they did look at 28 gospels and over 2000 different 'testaments of faith" that were being used by the various sects of 'early christianity'. Part of the problem was that the 'catholics' chose books from different sects, some saying different things.
Then ya got the ADDITIONs placed within the texts. One of the BIGGIEs was the gospel of Mark, said to be the oldest of all the biblical gospels. The 'resurrection' story Mark 16 wasn't added to the rest of the book until the 5th century. Early copies of the gospel of Matthew didn't have the 'nativity' story---the scripture starting with the baptism of 'Jesus'. There are many OTHER examples as well.
Hehheeee if all of these weren't 'bad' enough then you have all the controversy over that actual choice in wording. Heheheee.
The thing is we cannot know for sure either. The 'originals' of the texts were said to be LOST in the 5th century. Shortly after Jerome came out with the latin translation known as the Vulgate, there was alot of 'outcry' over mistakes and additions. When the bishops asked for the 'originals' they were told they were LOST---and have been since.
One should also note that back in the 5th century, the Vatican started their 'reeducation' project. The teaching of reading/writing was resticted to ONLY the clergy and many libraries were burnt, so that their 'secular knowledge' wouldn't interfer with the NEW orthodoxy put out by the church, thus starting the 'Dark Ages."
For centuries, the only biblical sources were the Latin translations. Many Protestants CLAIM that their bible is based upon Greek Texts--but the source document the Textus Receptus but it was translated from BYZANTINE greek, translations/copies written the 5th/6th centuries based on the Latin.
We do have older copies that differ from modern bibles, archeologists are also unearthing other copies as well that vary from the modern translations.
Then there the biblical stories themselves. In Genesis 11, God comes down, CONFUSES the WORD (one generation following the FLOOD, so biblically ONLY one language at the time, thus the WORD), and scattered his people all over the world---essentially repopulating the world after the flood.
EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ?
Deut 30:14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may do it.
The authority and the validity of the bible SHOULD be in quesiton....how many people have been killed because of what people read within the bible? The convert or die credo of christiandom usually doesn't actually involve killing a person any more as it did in the past. Most christians today just condemn OTHERs to hell.

How about a book? One claiming to be inspired by God Himself. This book would need to meet certain requirements. I'll start by reminding you what was said in the beginning of this page. The true God would be drawing us to Him, He would be aware of the spiritual laws, in fact powerful enough to communicate this standard to us, and to preserve it, as well as create the laws themselves. So if there was a book from God, this book in some form must have been in existence in most, if not all of man's history. Because if it was from God, He would have the power to have it so. What am I leading to? I am sure you have already guessed. I have used it already. I have quoted from it. It's the Bible. No other ancient texts have as many existing ancient manuscripts. It is the most sold, most read book ever. The Bible is actually a collection of many books. It is divided into 2 parts the Old and New Testament. Obviously the New Testament did not exist before Jesus. But Jesus Himself claims to be the Word of God, Himself (read the gospel of John chapter one). Jesus fulfilled many of the Old Testament prophecies. It is historically proven that Jesus was real, it is historically proven that the Old Testament existed years before Him. Therefore it is evidenced by Old Testament prophecy that Jesus is who He claims to be.

The words in the Bible are Spirt Breathed and is the very breath of God. His Words are Spirit and Life. The Logical mind will always see the bible as an inaccurate illogical book made of contradications. But to those who have received this God as Spirit have been able to see that this word is indeed true and is the Complete Divine Revelation of God to man regarding His Desire, Purpose and Will.

The Word of God is written upon our hearts. By Baptism of the Spirit we know His Word that was first written upon our heart.
2 Corinthians 3:3
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

i have over the years read the bible through a few times... i have read different versions... from cover to cover.. and i have never finished it with any kind of feeling that i have found the secrets that tell me which religious group is closer to the truth... in fact i have become more and more generally confused over time... i would speculate that any version when read independently of any study guide will give you any definite answers as to ONE truth... my opinion only

The original texts no longer exist, but we literally have thousands of ancient texts of at least parts of the Bible. There is no other ancient writing with such proof. In addition, we have the living Oral Tradition from which to compare the message to for authenticity.

This is why we know we have a true Bible.
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
1Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

All you've heard is "talk" about inaccuracies but you've never seen proof.
The Bible is the most authentic and well preserved book from antiquity.
It is reliable.
