I no in the airforce u need 20.20 vision but is it required to be a normal footsoilder or in the navy?

No it is not required for infantry in the Army.

You don't need 20/20 vision in any armed service. There are certian jobs that require perfect vision such as pilots. By the way there is no such thing as a "footslodier" in the navy. Let me break it down for you:
Army-Soldier
Marines-Marine
Air Force-Airman
Navy-Seaman

You don't NEED to have perfect vision in the Air Force, but you do need to have CORRECTABLE vision (i.e. glasses or contacts). I know, I'm in the Air Force and I wear glasses! And that's pretty much the way it is in all the branches. If you want to be a pilot and you don't have perfect vision, you can elect to have Lasik eye surgery after you join. (Because you do need to have 20/20 to be a pilot.)

Here are the corrected vision standards for enlistment in all branches of the armed forces:
20/20 in the better eye, 20/400 in the other.
20/30 in the better eye, 20/100 in the other.
20/40 in the better eye, 20/70 in the other.
In addition, your refractive error with glasses or contact cannot exceed plus or minus eight diopters of refractive index. This one is waiverable in many cases.

No, you do not, but it cant be so bad that glasses can't correct you vision.

why do u think they look for recruits from mostely poor neighbour hoods because they are desparate folks in need

no i dont believe perfect vision is requiered, thats why theyre the army!
