Yes too many. One is too many. This is not reality. As a matter of fact, if you look at the teeny tiny print on most of them it will say "scripted" reality show. I log about 1 1/2 hours of tv per WEEK. These reality shows only feed the voyeuristic egos of the public who watch them. "Oooh let me watch this and the fights they have and it will make my life seem so much better!" Rubbish. Pure rubbish. These shows are only an ESCAPE from reality for viewers.

IMO, the only good ones are America's Most Wanted, Cops, and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, because they do things for the community. All the rest can go. Seriously, all they do is make people greedy and keep fading stars in the spotlight. It's desperation, plain and simple. Some, like Kid Nation, are just lawsuits waiting to happen.

People want reality? Turn off the tube and go outside. That's reality.

There are entirely too many Reality TV shows on television today. You can't find a week night without a Reality TV show on now these days. MTV = Reality TV

ONE is too many.
The only good "reality" shows are the news and sports.

Why should I spend my precious free time following the lives of a bunch of whining teenagers who have been put up in a house in Malibou, do nothing but drink and sleep with each other and call it "reality"?

Hell yes! Its ridiculous! I mean,I have to admit I like the Real World but not as much as Seinfeld or Curb your Enthusiasm lol. I think we need more shows with substance. That's not the Real World its the fake world and people forget that.

I am tired of them but I understand the trend. I believe that after 911 in our country at least, people are craving emotions and excitement that they can control, and that doesn't involve real life. I probably am not making much sense, but even though it is real life tv supposedly, it is easier to laugh and cry at others than it is to face our own pain and loss or to laugh at ourselves. I think our hearts are in pain and I hope most people have love and peace in their lives, that makes the silliness of the reality TV craze pass quickly!

Yes! They are all lame and so fake. The worst ones are "I Love NY" and "Tila Tequila" on MTV as well as all the bad dating shows ("Next") and "The Bachelor". They are so staged and fake and totally suck! There are too many of these tacky shows!

too true..

I 'd rather watch an informative doco on sbs or abc.
Foreign correspondent is good but the afternoon abc kids (can) be entertaining.

I had some faith in the Chaser boys but they are true idiots something similar to today tonight, big brothel(R) and australian idol.

I think they are some good reality shows-I watch a few- but they have gone on overkill with them.

I guess you could say theres lots of people with different taste and intrest, but some shows are just stupid.

I wish we had more GOOD sitcoms and dramas.
