BUSINESS. They just built a new "Super Church" by my house. It has a 3 story playground like the ones McDonald's has and it even has a Starbucks inside. A Starbucks! There is a big waterfountain out front and a golfcart that picks you up. What about the "Super Church" in Houston,TX. The Houston Rocket's used to play their basketball games there when it was the Compaq Center.

The members of my parent's church give money to the church that they use. The budget is known to every person, and voted upon. I can't see how this is a business, as it makes no money. I don't think I've ever visited a church in 30 years that has done much different.

Business- what happens when you pass the plate? The catholic church runs the mafia and the whore houses in Europe, and how many poor preachers do you know? They are brilliant with the "tax free" "non-for profit organization". All conquests have been in the name of God and Christianity. Christians systematically wiped out the American Indians, made marijuana illegal and now we persecute the Muslims with President Bush's speeches about "I pray that we win" ......no wonder money is the root of all evil.

In some churches yes, perhaps a money making business to some,
or man-made religion.
So stick with the bible - God is in it.
Other churches, I think are okay as they
do charitable things/help people/etc.
depends on the people I suppose
Only you can decide which is right for you.

Unfortunately it is true church has become a business. I wish it were not so and it's not like I would know how to run it any differently. I just know sometimes it gets very frustrating to me to see how far from the concerns of the objectives of Jesus many churches are today.

You need money in this world to do pretty much anything.

You cant fault a church for needing money to function. Non profit organizations do things to get money all the time.

Anything that gives tax breaks is fine with me. Everyones taxes are too high. We should have a flat tax with very limited deductions for personal businesses.

All religions are a business. Then again, music is a business too. I don't see why that has to necessarily lessen people's enjoyment of it.

its a business of course and it should be taxed like one. but you can't find a politician that will back it. They show G. Bush going to church with wife, do you really think he is religious?

come on now, tell the truth.
