Like evolve i mean.
Look at the Spanish conquistadors, they felt they could kill natives, take their gold, rape the women, and make slaves out of the rest and think its perfectly good with god.
Then look at the Inquisition, where innocent people could be tortured to death as long as blood was not drawn.
Or the hanging of blacks in the South during the KKK era.
But today's christians would not do these things. Maybe its because they re-read the 10 commandments and have a better intellect. This is definitely progress in the positive direction. Keep up.

Yup. Slavery, OK by Paul, reprehensible by Christians today.
Good thing, too.

It hasn't been very many years since the KKK hung black men in the South. But now the laws are being enforced by those same black men who would have been hung only a few decades ago.
It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with people fighting back against those who think they are better than everyone else.

Anything that goes against the word of God Is wrong.
I don't care what era It Is.
But yes It's a good thing we don't have show downs on main street at the ok corral.
Or have stonings like they used to In the Old Testament.
I would've died a long time ago.

Religions have to evolve to remain somewhat relevant in the eyes of their followers in comparison to the times they live in..
The Catholic church is a very good example.. With each new Pope the rules change slightly reflecting the changes in society.. Without the changes the church loses followers and thus money, influence and power..
It all comes down to the bottom line.. Money... In order to keep the money and the power and influence it can buy religion has to evolve...

Yes, Religions (especially christianity) have changed form many times.
Some manage not to change but through strenuous effort to discourage difference in the faith.

Yeah---next thing they may even evolve into a religion that gives up judging & condemning others--& start treating others as they would like to be treated--just don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen!
