Now. You can take the ASVAAB as many times as you want, and if you do worse on a later test than an earlier one, the highest score remains your score.

There is no good/bad time to take it. You do have to wait six months between attempts, so if you take it now then you'll be able to try again before you'd be trying to enlist, but you have time.

As far as scores, it's kind of an intelligence test. Not really, it's actually measuring your ability to learn different types of things, but that's pretty much what IQ means. The stuff on there isn't hard - all HS level stuff - but, you'll do dramatically better after a year or two of college than you would as a HS Jr. That said, I'd tell you go ahead and take it. There's really no harm in seeing what options are open to you now versus later.

Far as studying, check the free stuff at Military.com, it's pretty good. Know up front what jobs you're interested in, then find out what line scores you need for them, and what sections of the test effect those line scores. That way you can focus your studying, and when you take the test you know which sections to pay attention to & which ones you can relax and breeze thru. It'll reduce the stress and increase the scores a lot, trust me.

Study Math, and only math, from a book like ASVAB for dummies. This can be found at more public libraries for free.

Probably about now.

I never took the ASVAB, though. I was sick that day. Everybody has to take the GT (General Test) exam at MEPS center, though, and your aptitude scores that go in your military record and determine skills and abilities for jobs are based on that.

the best time is right before you join. if you want to go after high school.. take it then. If you want to go to college. take it after college. but wait until you want to join so you can score with the most education that you can get.

a good study guid is ASVAB for Dummies. its not for dumb people its full of very good info. i got one from amazon for about 12 bucks. i scored high enough to get almost any job i could ask for.

You can buy a study guide for it. You might want to go ahead and take it now. If you don't do to well you will have more time to study and prepare. Good luck.

I think you should take it in high school so all the information you need to know is fresh in your mind.
