I've experienced some other symptoms of petit mal seizures...the stuttering is something that is prominent and obvious to others...I would just prefer to have more info before talking to my doctor about the possibility of epilepsy.

THAT is a really interesting question. It's something to think about. Some kinds of epilepsy are psychogenic. So is stuttering. Both psychogenic epilepsy and stuttering are neurotic symptoms. All neurotic symptoms, regardless of their aetiology, have psychological meanings, so in one respect at least there is a definite relationship between them.

I had an uncle who had epilepsy and also stuttered, but he stuttered all of the time, not just before a seizure. I guess it is possible , but then anything is possible. Contact The Stuttering Foundation of America and ask them.

Do you have seizures already? I studder, but I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy...so when I am tired and my muscles go bad I studder or slurr my words. I think studdering is a symptom of many neurolgic illnesses.
