Why would a god allow murderers and sex offenders to attack young children who haven't even developed a coherent world view? Can anyone give me an answer to this that is at all common-sensical? What is god's motivation? Reading the papers makes me sick sometime. An omniscient being is okay with this?!

Whoa! People are missing one point. Free will has nothing to do with the little five year old girl who is raped or murdered. What about HER?

because God doesn't want us to be his robots and he gave us freewill. they used that freewill.
plus if you don't have the bad you won't appreciate the good.

God is not okay with it. He allows it but He doesn't will it. Murderers and sex offenders are given free will, just like the rest of us. When God promised us FREE WILL, He meant free will. God doesn't break His promises. I'm writing from a religious standpoint, so those people will be punished in the afterlife.

Same with the little girl being raped- God allows it because He gave all people free will, but He does not, I repeat, DOES NOT will it. Also, again, He is NOT okay with it.

So now you know why. You asked why an omniscient being is allowed those atrocities, and I answered you. Mind that you did not ask me if such a being existed.

Don't let this convince you that there is no god, if you believe there is one. Don't listen to the regurgitated answers the church has supplied its followers and accept them as unconditional truth. Bad stuff happens, and it always seems horribly unfair... because it is. But what you read about is all the bad stuff. There is never a story on a family that adopts an abused foster child and gives them a second chance. the ebb and flow of the world is much more positive than the media portrays.

the bad stuff happens. it gives us the perspective to appreciate what is good. it can bring a community or a family together. it has a purpose... it is kinda like a mosquito. after a bite we all think "GAH! WHY DO THESE THINGS EXIST??" but really the ecosystem would be unbalanced without them. a necessary evil, if you will.

It's a choice between free will and the allowance of evil. If God chose to prevent such disgusting acts, he would also thereby be removing the right to do those acts from those people... depriving them of free will.

If you really wanted a God who would prevent those things, you would in turn want a God who would not and could not trust you with anything whatsoever. There's the flaw.

And really, is it fair to accuse God for crimes done by humans? The real question should be, "Seriously, why? Why do humans consistantly stoop to the depravity seen in the news and everywhere. Can anyone explain how a being capable of moral and intelligent thought can do these things?"

No, God hates all evil. When God made the earth it was
perfect. No sickness, disease,or death.God made man
in His image and they was perfect just like Him. But because
God gave man freewill, Adam and Eve disobeyed God, so
then sin came into this world and into Adam and Eve's offspring. This is why there is so much evil. But because
God is love He sent a savior ( Jesus ) To redeem sinful man.
And in the near future to make a new earth that will be perfect
like the first one was. Read revelation the last chapter in the
bible.

"Some people think they can imagine a creature which was free, but had no possibility of going wrong. I cannot. If a thing is free to do good it is also free to do bad. And free will is what made evil possible. Why then did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata- of creatures that worked like machines- would hardly be worth creating."
-CS Lewis, Mere Christianity

Also why do you feel sick when reading about immoral ways? Can't you see your disapproval is from a higher morality? God places this in our hearts- to know what is right and what is wrong.

Oh man, what a great question. And I add to this - why does God allow some people to get away with doing bad things and allow some good people to be punished?
FREEE WILL
Yep, that's right, we create our own sins, whether this life or the next, these sins follow us - and so we have no excuse when we say, "I don't deserve this".
It's Kharma. You reap what you sow, even if you didn't remember where it came from, it is fair.
God is Fair.
Check this book out. It will give a little freedom to understanding your life and the power of free choice, true and real free will.

We all have to make decisions hundreds of times a day.
Right or wrong it is our decision. not Gods.

For the depraved who act out their evil behavior, this is not god's decision but the human who committs the fellonous acts for self gratifications. Whether this crime is judged by a legal system of his peers doesn't matter because evil deeds and good deeds rhoughts and words are judged at our death.

But what about the victim, that the sad part. Why does God allow it?? I do not think that God gets that involved wiith human trajedy. He leaves that up to man. That is why the world we live in is a hard place to live in , we can be considered living in a lower form of hell, a place to learn to be better, to improve ourselves, or the exact opposite.

Most people in this world are unhappy, sick or crippled, greedy dishonest, rich or poor and on and on it goes. Just like that little girl now is. But we all are afraid to die. Why? couldn't be any worse then the suffering presented to us on this planet

This is god's way of making us better souls and training for the long. journey back to him . Maybe transfering through heavens and hells through other incarnations.

God isn;t an excutive a manager, micro manageing the ctizens of earth God is love and the way back to His kingdom is through love. . That is our job.

What about the little girl?? Maybe she just forgot. maybe she devoted herself to God . may be she became a criminal. or a saint She is still on the same path we all are.all in. Mircles do happen. From our limiteds perspective maybe her pain caused a great spiritual advancement, maybe not.

I hope this is not too etherial or spiritual. of an answer.
Just my spiritual beloefs. You are the person who can and help the poor victims of life, You learn love that way. But hating the perv isn't a good decision. He has his diabolical path to walk through the punishments of hell

An omniscient being is okay with this?! of course they are, THAT is what makes them Omniescant, otherwise no-one would have any choice whatsoever, you wouldn't be allowed to eat meat, kill a mosquito, drive a car, use plastics, or artificial fibers

By being Omniescant the choice on how you live is passed to you, and everybody else, work it out WHERE would you draw the line?? Corrupt politicians, corrupt police or govt officials, malpracticing doctors - the child who drops a candy wrapper on your lawn.. WHERE?

If God were to step in in these situations, it would be interfering with free will. I do not believe that anyone would choose to simply be puppets, and that is the only way that these things would be 100% eliminated.

These things are tragic, but to blame God is not logical. It is evil, in other words the devil whose will these people are following.

Why do these things happen? Because the devil is a very disgusting and evil being.

You can't sit around blaming all the bad stuff on God or Satan.
You have to put the weight of the guilt upon the person who commits the crime.

Do you give God credit when good stuff happens.
I smell a hypocrite.

Good luck anyway
