Still the same age 21.
If the checker is under 21, they have to get someone of legal age to complete the sale.

No minimum age to sell like at a checkout, just legally emplyed by a company licensed to sell alcohol. 18 to serve in a restaurant, 21 to pour alcohol (like a bartender) or obtain a license to sell independently. I know you got a lot of different answers, but they are for the most part wrong. I am positive of my info. 10 minutes worth of research on Google will proove it.

the save has the right, and the duty to ask for identity in the adventure that they sense the fellow paying for is less than 18. possibly they idea she become paying for it for him, and they idea he become less than 18 (because he looked youthful). They were in basic terms attempting to do the most ideal element. such an excellent style of children less than 18 have become their fingers on alcohol because someone who's older is being irresponsible and procuring alcohol for toddlers. He must have waited outdoors! I remember at the same time as i become 26 I went to a nightclub and were given requested for identity (which I hadn't taken alongside) and that i idea they had to be joking! particular i had a youngish searching face, yet i become 26! They refused me the front. It occurs, my advice, continually carry identity!

18, I worked in a Wal Mart for a year and a half when I was 17-18. During the 17 year old part I had to call a supervisor to sell alcohol, I couldn't even touch it or take the money. Then it all get better when I turned 18.

I think it is different from state to state.
In Texas:

Off-Premises License or Permit (e.g. most grocery or convenience stores) - no age restriction on employees
On-Premises License or Permit (e.g. bar or restaurant) – must be 18 or over to serve/sell
License or Permit (e.g. bar or restaurant) – must be 18 or over to serve/sell
Package Store (liquor store) – employees must be 21 or over
Wine Only Package Store (store that sells wine for off-premise consumption containing a higher alcohol content than your typical grocery store) – employees must be 16 or over.

In Virginia:

For immediate family members there is no age requirement. For example, it would be permissible for the owner's child who is 11 year's old to run the cash register.
For non-family members - any person that is of the legal working age in Virginia may work selling alcohol in an ABC off-premises licensed establishment.

In both examples above, a designated ABC Manager who is 21 years of age or older must be on the licensed premises.

I believe you can be a cashier at a grocery store and check out alcohol at 16, at least here in CT. You have to be 18 to bartend or serve alcohol in a restaurant. You have to be 21 to purchase it. I hope that helps!
