Why is it so important to you for God to not exist? WHERE DID YOU GET THIS IDEA
Why do you need to believe this? THERE IS NO "NEED" TO BELIEVE. THAT IS RESERVED FOR RELIGIOUS FOLKS. YOU ARE THE ONES WHO "NEED" TO BELIEVE IN GOD.
Why is it so important for you to convince others also that God does not exist? IT'S NOT. IT'S YOUR CHOICE. BUT WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO OUR OPINION.
What is the harm in God existing? NONE. WHAT IS THE HARM IN UNICORNS EXISTING? NONE. POINTLESS QUESTION.
It is obvious from this and your other questions, that YOU NEED A HOBBY!

Q1: Interesting question. The reson is because believers find it so important for such a being to exist, the two counteract as perfect antithesys.
Q2: Infact, atheism is by definition a lack of beleif in such a force, not a belief that such a thing does not exist. You knind of contradicted yourself there. Why an atheist has no belief in a god is pretty obvious, they feel that such a belief, to them, is ludacrus.
Q3:For the same reason it is so important for believers to force their beliefs and ideals on non believers. We know that there is no such thing, and as such, we live much fuller, lives unhindered by dogma and theocracy... wouldn't you want to spread the word.
Also, religious arguments, especially those supersticious ones based on dogma are easily refuted, we feel it necessesary to practice free thought, unhindered by dogma and theocracy, and colapse the hillarious arguments for the existence of deities that believers come up with.
Q4: The harm is that one can not live a life unhindered with such a thing always sitting on your shoulder, silently judging all of your actions. Believers do good things to get into heaven or alike, athiests do good things genuninely and without convicion.
Believers do bad things and feel they need to be punished or hope that their deity is not watching or seek forgivness and absolution, often blaming intervention from some kind of malign melevinant foce like the devil. Athiests acknowledge their actions, take responsibility and learn from their actions.

What is the harm in believing we are alone? Or that there are many Gods? There isn't any harm in believing either way. Unless you're faced with the bloody Spanish Inquisition.
1) Because I don't want to be afraid to p*ss off some egotistical narcissist every time I go and say "f*ck" or "J*sus-f*cking-Chr*st". I don't want to know where I'm going after this life anyways. Until I get there.
2) The question is: Why don't you?
3) It's not a priority to me. Believe in what you want. I would only want to help you become free.
4) If such a God actually exists, and some purgatory or haven exists, I predict I shall be escorted to the former for the minor pleasures I have indulged.

I wish there was a loving God, I'm just a realist. I've studied theology and the history of religion and come to the logical conclusion almost all others do who take that path. The God in which you are undoubtedly referring however, is not a loving God. This is where the harm comes in. You worship a deity that represents the worst of a very barbaric, uncivilized culture. Christianity has been the cause of more religious killings than any other religion ever created.
I am not against religious belief in itself. I wouldn't need to open others eyes if the evil of child indoctrination didn't exist. Child indoctrination is highly psychological and a vicious cycle. The further the indoctrination goes, the less likely the person will ever question their views. It is up to me to give as many of these people a chance to think for themselves as possible. I'm not just doing this for the individual, but for the good of society as a whole.

You have missed the gist of the argument. They don't believe anything. They know God doesn't exist. They like to try to convince others because they get tired of having Christianity shoved down their throats. I'd get tired of being told I was going to hell all the time. There isn't any harm in God existing. The problems arise when overzealous believers try to make everyone else believe as they do.

It is not important to me. I do not need to believe this.
I do believe in disabusing people of the notion however.
There would be no harm in a God existing so long as it was a benevolent one. Infact it would be advantageous. However all things considered, there isn't a god and I feel it is actually dangerous for people to rely on one.

I am agnostic so I don't care whether or not god exists.
I am willing to state my opinion that the judeo-christian-muslim concept of god is false, and give real reasons for having that opinion. I think it is not worthy of humans to parrot the idea that god exists when there is no real evidence of such a being and the facts seem to support the contrary thesis (at least insofar as the aforementioned judeo-christian-muslim god is concerned).
There is no harm in a god existing; in fact, so far (if one exists) he/she apparetly hasn't done humans any good or bad that we can be sure of. However, there is harm in people thinking they know what a god wants when they have no clue. If he/she exists and wants humans to know about it, he/she surely can do better than ambiguous incoherent scriptures written by semi-literate denizens of deserts.

"Why is it so important to you for God to not exist?" - It's not important for God NOT to exist. It's just highly unlikely a god DOES exist.
"Why do you need to believe this?" - So I can be intellectually honest with myself that if God has zero evidence, then (s)he doesn't exist.
"Why is it so important for you to convince others also that God does not exist?" - Because they are delusional and it hurts us as a species (wars, immorality, etc.).
"What is the harm in God existing?" - If a god DID exist then it's not harmful, unless the God is an 'evil' God or people do 'evil' things for this god.

i dont need god not to exist..... he just doesnt exist and i know that because i have more than half a brain and can think formyself. atheists dont go around trying to convince people to be atheists.... in fact its usually the christians going around trying to convince us.
there is no harm in god existing but there is alot of harm in having people believe he exists. most of historys wars and worst crimes were in the name of religion. also christians just attribute the unknown to god and discourage free thinking.
