You definitely have yourself what's called the "SPORT" package which was an optional/upgrade package for the SLT, SLT+ & laramie Ram pickups. The sport package came with the same color molded bumpers & grille which would replace the chrome bumpers & chrome grille that came standard on these models.
The difference between models with the Sport package
SLT - will not have leather seats, but it maybe optioned with dual climate, heated seats &mirrors.
SLT+ - would have the optional leather seats and dual climate control, heated mirrors, dimming rear view mirror.
Laramie- This is a fully loaded with every possible option except the common upgrades at the time
Some common options/upgrades you could add to all models at extra charges
1) Sport Package - matching bumper & grill
2) skid plates
3) in dash 6 vs single CD player
4) heated seats (except laramie)
5) motor size (4.7L vs 5.7L) and rear differential ratios (3:55, 3:73 or 4:10)
6) leather seats (except laramie)
7) dual climate control (except laramie)
8) heated power mirrors (except laramie)

I am almost certain your problem is in the rear anti lock brake dump valve . This is only true if your truck only has rwabs only , not 4 wheel abs . When the dump valve ges bad it lets the pressure for the rear brakes bleed off so you end up with a mushy peddle . They are real easy to change and it seems like you know what you are doing . Just don't let the master cylinder run dry while you are changing the valve . The valve is about 7 inches long and is located in the metal rear brake line on the frame or under the master i do not remember which location and it has a bleeder screw on it also .

The sport model is difficult to tell it is a 4x4. It has ground effect spoilers, and independent front suspension. It is closer to the ground than a lot of 4x2s.
The heavy duty is easy to tell, because it appears to be jacked up, and has a straight front axle.
