Why are we just building a wall on the south border and not on the Canada/America border? Isn't this an insult to the Mexican government?

Canadians don't need passports, so there is no such thing as an illegal immigrant from Canada. Why do we prohibt Mexicans from coming over freely like we do Canadians?

i agree with you, now a days the rate of illegal immigration is much of the same coming from north than the one coming from south. i live in california and i always see these mexican people trying to make a living, they are mostly honest workers. really do you thinkk that mexicans would give up their home, their traditions, their culture and everything else just to come and "destroy the us". OF COURSE NOT they just come because the mexican government is not able to produce enough jobs for the people and mexicans come to earn dough fair and square

Canadians do need passports, however, our 'visa waiver' rules are based on the percentage of people who overstay visas, and Mexico, unlike Canada, has a very bad record in that regard. Poland can't get a visa waiver program, either, for the same reason.
Many MANY more come in through our southern border, so the money is most effectively spent there. However, we are also putting a virtual fence on the northern border.

no not an insult but Mexico refuses to stop their people from leaving so we have to help Mexico. that is why the wall must be built and in a Few years it will extend the whole length of the boarder and we will deploy much more coast guard units along our water ways as far as Canada goes we don't have vast numbers of Canadians illegally entering as we do Mexicans. we only wish to help Mexico this fence is for their good

Well If us would of done there job we wouldnt be having this problem. Think about it. If the border police was doing there jobs and we had a better wall or walls to begin with and security we wouldn have immagration problems. You know you can pay someone thousands of dollars to get someone over here thats how most can over. I mean were paying taxes for nothing. All a illegal needs is money to get back and forth. And the borders need more workers or better workers who wont turn there heads or take money to let them over here. And The mexican government laughs cuz they encourage it like someone said earlier. But i don't understand why they pay there people so little and let them be poor basically. And my hubby is a mexican but i will tell him the same thing. And there are allot of mexicans over here than any other illegals but they do the jobs we don't want like the crop picking.

Thank God, that there is somebody accessible who feels the comparable way I do. each and every physique is starting to be very anti-mexican. and that i think undesirable because of the fact my mom became as quickly as an unlawful. yet you're suitable Bush would not say to guard borders from terrorists which i think of additionally ability the Canadian border, yet no you're able to pay interest. Terrorists got here from canada and have been criminal. on the information all of us communicate approximately is illegals from mexico or south american, what concerning the cubans they permit to stay right here. Bush basically needs oil and provide money to the wealthy. I do have faith border patrol might desire to guard our borders from criminals and medicines. And the 1st start to guard the borders is to bypass after companies who hire unlawful immigrants and make effective they relatively each and every physique gets honest wages.

Um, because they go home? Some do stay illegally but there are not millions of illegal canadians sapping the system, comiting crimes and fraud and bringing down the quality of life here. Also, Canada is a modern country people actually want to live in, unlike Mexico. There are not thousands of Canadians running over the border in violation of our laws, either. They come over, visit, work legally, follow all relevant laws and go home when they are supposed to.
Illegal verse legal.

You need a passport to enter the US from any foreign country, even Canada.
There are Canadians who have moved illegally to the US and started a new life (I went to school w/ one) but the numbers are so much smaller than the numbers of illegal immigrants from Mexico and through Mexico.

Mexicans have trashed their country and unless terrorists can swim the cold waters of the Atlantic and Pacific. Illegal Mexicans are terroristics just by the fact they are destroying America. Look at the devastation they have did to Los Angeles. The Mexican government is an insult into itself by the fact they cannot feed and take care of their own people and are helping them flee to America illegally for freebies.

Because our jails aren't filled with Canadians, our hospitals aren't going bankrupt because of Canadians and our schools aren't cutting programs for American children because we need to teach Canadian children how to speak English.
I don't care if it is an insult to Mexico, the Mexican Government and it's people are not my concern. My concern is MY country and what is best for US.
Hasn't the Mexican government claimed that it's OK for Mexicans to come to our country illegally because we aren't stopping them? I think the American people have spoken and what we are saying is that it is NOT ok, the fact is that it hasn't been ok for a very long time, the border patrol has been trying to keep illegals out for YEARS, just because we haven't been able to stop the majority of them doesn't mean that they are welcome here.
It doesn't matter how the terrorists got into the country 7 years ago, what matters is how the next potential terrorists plan to come here, and frankly with the tighter security they are more likely to come from the south.
Add-
Canadians don't need passports because they AREN'T coming here in large numbers and staying illegally, the US has rewarded countries for not abusing our system. And just because they don't need a passport to visit doesn't mean they are allowed to stay here to work and live. If there weren't so many illegals from Mexico they would be treated the same way and people would be able to visit freely, but we can't do that because the Mexicans can't be trusted to leave when the time comes.

We dont stop Mexican immigrants. We stop ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants. Just as we would stop illegal immigrants from anywhere else. The insult is FROM the Mexican government because it encourages illegal immigration from their country into ours. Plus, there is little or no reciprocity when it comes to legal immigration into Mexico. Try and go THERE for a job as an American.
This issue has been beaten up a million times on this board. And nobody seems to understand the distinction between legal and illegal immigration. It's completely amazing to me.
EDIT
Canadians need work visa's etc. to stay here for extended periods of time. I know Canadians who have been deported. If they want to become citizens, they have to follow the same path as any other immigrant.
Nice try though.
