Minimizing the effects of global warming would help some of our environmental problems, but not necessarily the other way around. Picking up litter, reducing ozone destroying materials and reducing toxic spills are all good for the environment, but do nothing for reducing global warming.

If we minimize our environmental problems, global warming could start to reverse.
However, there continue to be chemicals in our cleaning and body care that when when flushed or rinsed or poured into our septic systems, cannot be recovered by the ground or treatment facilities prior to being released back into the environment.
When certain ones of these chemicals, triclosan being the most damaging, get hit by sunlight, they break down into dioxins.
Until consumers are educated as to the harmful effects of choosing petro-products, there isn't going to be any way to control the damage. You can't get rid of the problems when the problems are pouring out of almost everyone's home.

Sure. We've been doing this for almost a half a century now. Technology developed by corporations are used to reduce pollution, conserve resources, make production more efficient, and recycle items that once were tossed in a landfill.
Modern technology coupled with Capitalism is the best way to clean up environmental issues.

Quite a correct premise, it should have been targeting not to minimize but to absolutely eradicate Environmental problems. Global Warming is one of the million problem as far as Environmental protection and preservation is concerned, so one way leads to another.
