I prefer answers from anyone who is in the military or military relatives, spouses, who actually know what they're talking about, not just guesses. I would like to know how long in weeks or months it would take to get to San Diego by ship from Australia. This question is about USMC Unit MALS-13 Marines who are on their way back from Iraq deployment by ship, but are currently in Australia. How long would it take to arrive to San Diego, California from Australia?

Figure at least 3 weeks. This does not include days in port at Pearl Harbor.

I've done Brisbane to San Diego a couple times. It was about 2 weeks to Pearl Harbor and then another week to San Diego.

depends on the ships' port schedule, their OPTEMPO and any exercises they have on the way, to include dropping off personnel and picking up Tigers.

Besides, that information falls under OPSEC anyway and will not be disseminated on a public website, If you have a legitimate need to know, you will be informed privately, in person, about two weeks out when they are due in port.
