Open up Word
Then click on File
Then scroll down till you get to Page Setup
There just hit the up or down arrows to change your margins.

Margins tab
Make Top, Left, Bottom, and Right all 1"

File>Set Up...>Margins and set all to 0 and also make sure on the File>Set up...>Layout tab that your headers and footers are set to 0. In MSWord, any space for the header and/or footer are in addition to what your margins are set for.
