if you need to apply for welfare to go to school, you need to get a job and go to school at night
Welfare is for people that NEED it due to circumstances that make it difficult for them to earn a living
Yours is a CHOICE. BIG DIFFERENCE

there are QUALIFICATIONS to get welfare-or Food Stamps, or any other government benefits. Go to your local Department of Jobs and Family Services and ask a counselor what those qualifications are. They vary state to state. As a student with two parents supporting you and NO WORK HISTORY, your odds are pretty small. Welfare SHOULD BE for those that DESPARATELY need it between jobs or just to survive, although not always the case.

Nope, if you are dependent you can't apply for welfare. I don't think students can apply for welfare either, unless you also have a full-time job.

Why you want to be on welfare? How old are you?
How about the work and college at the same time?
We all had it done, one way or another.
I can not relay on the Government for all you needs, even if you live in CA.

I hope not. I beleive you are expected to work even part time or do something for food and shelter. Who is paying for your school? If parents andyou are over 18 you are blessed and have to feed your self. You may be eligible for medical help or food stamps but no money. Times are hard out here in the real world.

Not unless you renounce English as a language and make wee-wee on the heroes and heroines whose sacrifice built the United States of America.

If you respect those great contributors, welfare will be denied you. Well...at least, that seems to be the way of things lately.

why should you? go out and get a job. Work for your future, you have to learn to stop depending on everyone else to take care of you. I went back to college later than most, worked full time and had a full load in school. Anyone and everyone should be able to do this...it's for the future for goodness sake!!!!

I don't see why not. Pushin' and shovin' in the welfare line is the state sport. Better watch out though, they got some heavy weight welfare mamma's out there.

Hahaha nope you can't get on welfare. You don't qualify. What you can do is get a job and work while you are in school.

If you are a dependent of your parents - meaning you actually live in their home and they claim you on their taxes, then you may have difficulty collecting welfare. If you live on your own and just get help from your parents then you probably have a good chance of collecting welfare - and your situation represents a perfect example of how welfare should be used.
