If you are talking about on your W-4, filing as married they'll take out a little less than if you file as single, so you'd get more in your paycheck.
If you are talking about your actual return, you don't have a choice - you are married, so you have to file as married, either married filing separately or married filing joint. A joint return almost always results in less taxes between the two of you.

If you're married, you CAN'T file Single! Your only choices are Married Filing Jointly and Married Filing Separately. In nearly all cases you'll pay less total tax by filing jointly. The IRS recommends that you figure your taxes both ways and file whichever way is most advantageous (i.e. least tax) to you.

Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately are your choices. If you are married as of Dec 31st of this year then you choose one of the two choices that I indicated to you. Married Filing Separately is the least desirable filing status to ever use. You can not file single because you are married.

If you are married you can't file single. Your choice is married filing a joint return or married filing separately. You will have to do the math to see which is better. If all depends on each person's income.

You don't get the option to file married or single, which are you? If you are married you must file married, but you can choose to file married filing seperate, which normally will cost more.

Can't answer intelligently without a lot more information. Do you itemize? What business are you each in? Where does your income come from? Do you have a lot of deductions - charity, 401K, other areas?
Bite the bullet and see a good tax man - pay attention to what he tells you, write it down, and you'll be able to handle your own affairs assuming there are no major changes. But get an expert analysis at the beginning - a good tax man will save your more than his fee.

Always file married. You are penalized for filing separately if you are married.
