I do work at home and I really do love it. For I am with my two girls when they get home and the house is clean and I can help them with home work.

Herman,

I think this is an excellent question as I have seen hundreds of people looking for work from home opportunities.

I believe most people do want to work at home. The problem is that they confuse "Jobs" with "business opportunities" and just assume that they are all scams when they see they have to invest something.

The difference between a job and a business opportunity is that with a job, you work for someone else, they control the hours that you work and the amount that you are paid. A business opportunity is offering you a chance to start your own business, work your own hours and determine your own pay through your actions.

That said, if a company is hiring "employees" to work from home, then there should never be a charge for working for someone else. However, if a company is offfering you a chance to start your own business, in most cases, there is a start-up cost. That is common in any business. Do you know of anyone who starts people in their own businesses without having to invest something in themselves? Why would I expect a company to help me start a business on his dollar if I am not willing to invest in myself?

I fully agree that working from home is the greatest reward you can have. There is nothing like the freedom of working for yourself and being able to decide how much you are willing to earn due to your own actions, rather than the choice of an employer. Not to mention there is absolutely no job security as long as you work for someone else.

If there was an actual "job" at home where people worked for someone else and got paid an hourly rate, I don't think the factories would have any employees LOL.

Thanks for asking this!

I work from home and it does have it good and bad points. I agree with another that it isn't for all people either. Some people do miss the interaction, some can't handle working and having their kids at home at the same time, and I have met some that thought they didn't have to actually work! lol! (I am not making this up!)

The positive things for me is being home for my son even though sometimes I may have to work a few hours on the weekend. My house is a little cleaner! My schedule is somewhat flexible, if I know something is coming up I can work extra hours the day before but then there are times I have worked quite a few days in a row without having a day off. After all is said and done though, this was the best choice for me because I am more productive in my home office!

I have been working from home for many years now and got to say it got its good sides and bad sides. I do miss the people around me, having a chat at the coffee machine, go for lunch together. But at the same time, now I can be more flexible with my working ours. If the kids needs me then I'm here, they just need to learn that I also have to work.
So it is a lot about getting the right balance.
Some people will never be able to work from home and there is nothing wrong with that. We are all so different.

I, along with lots of people I am sure, would love to have the opportunity to work at home. The problem is finding the right company that is not a scam and requiring money up front. If you are seriously looking for a job, it should be obvious that you don't have money to risk.

I also work at home! But I can't really call it 'work', because all I do is shop online and make money doing it! Better than the 40 hours for 40 years plan! Christmas shopping will be so much easier, and paid for! What do you do?
