are either apostates or disfellowshipped without the sincerity of returning to the organization? I've been observing for months now questions that are posted from "Unsilenced Lamb", "Carol D", "Sinister Minister ?", Pedi C....and a few more for JWs. I'm not a Witness (yet) myself but i know these people are just out there to either annoy you to the limit and bad-mouthing all JWs (stereotyping ya'all). Why do you fall into their trap? Why do you answer and defend your fatith when you know they don't really care for your answers? I understand you need to defend for others sake who may see the questions & are curious themselves but again, isn't answering them is the same as "talking to them?" when you're not supposed to? U guys are in a very tough situation. I hate to see you JWs fall into the trap of the "bird catcher." Personally, I not being a JW get very angry when i see these people continue to put you and your beliefs down. Hope your God Jehovah shuts the mouths of these people soon

I'm sorry, but i did address this question to JEHOVAH'S Witnesses and no other religion. JUST FYI. I used to be Born-Again Christian until I had no more $$ to give them. Then went to Catholic but they gave me no satisfying answer to my questions. I used to study with the JWs but their moral standards are so high i do not feel worthy to be one of them. Yes, i do "have a mouth" which also makes me feel not worthy to be a JW because i know they practice self control!
Again, question is for JWs!!! THANK YOU!

Comment to Izofblue... honestly, the slandering of your religion (JW) is what made me look into your beliefs with the intention of looking for something negative to add to the 'already negative comments given.' Yet, without a doubt, i found, instead answers to my questions regarding hell and why would God create such an awful place knowing that HE KNOWS WE ARE SINNERS and will never reach his high standards to the fullest! It answered my confusion and the mystery of the Trinity. Oh, i found fault in the watchtower prophecies but i do accept as well that these men in New york are just men who make mistakes just as how the pastors and religious leaders are men and imperfect.
Iron Serpent, thank you for the compliment but honestly, i am not yet ready to make the changes to be a true christian but i am glad i've found the truth.
All, i do not mean to judgemental. I'm sorry.

I do try to avoid questions from those who are obviously apostates and obviously are not interested in hearing the truth but are simply stirring up contention.
Mom of 1, Jesus said By their fruits YOU will recognize them. (Matthew 7:16-20) It is not judgemental to recognize bad fruitage. And what fruit have they produced other than strife, contention and planting seeds of doubt about what we know to be the truth? Our treacherous, desperate heart can lead us into thinking that there is no need for us to preach and teach the good news or serve Jehovah along with his spirit directed organiztion. No! I pray every day that my brothers and sisters witnessing here will not fall into that trap. I am not in good health, but I put forth every effort to preach from door to door, at the doctors office, by telephone and yes even here on YA since when I am having one my bad days, I can answer questions for 5 -15 minutes then rest and come back every hour or 2 throughout the day and night.
I am very happy that you are learning the truth and that you can recognize spiritual danger when you see it. That will be invaluable to you as you continue making spiritual progress. I know that this is difficult but please, do not even read questions posted by known apostates. Some, may perhaps change their screen names and post questions trying to sound sincere. But the tone is always similar to Satan's when he questioned Eve or the Pharisees when they questioned Jesus. This lets us know who is really behind the puppet.

It is commendable on your part - someone who isnt even one of Jehovahs Witnesses who realises that answering these apostates and disfellowshiped ones is wrong.
I only wish that more Witnesses that do fall into their trap read your question and wake up to themselves.
thank you for posting this question.
And lastly please none of us consider ourselves worthy to be called Jehovah God's witnesses but you must rememeber that HE finds us worthy.Jehovah is allowing enough time for the good news to be preached. You obviously have the right heart condition to see that this is the truth. Why not do yourself a favor and resume your study.Pray hard to Jehovah to help you get through your issues - beleive me He will.I never thought I could become the person I have but only with Jehovahs help I did it and I feel so priviledged and at peace.

I have been a disfellowshiped JW for a very long time. I guess about 6 months ago I stumbled into yahoo answers R&S. It was people saying wrong things about the JW's that got my blood boiling.
If you read through my answers you we see all I have ever done is stick up for the JW's ,so not all of us run them down.
In a way I have to thank those apostates and others for getting me thinking about spritual matters again (this doesn't mean I approve of what they say).
I am now taking steps to bring myself back into good standing with Jehovah.
Note also I have always freely admitted I am disfellowshiped.
While I feel the JW's have stuck by the bible standards in regards to contact with me I must say some have made comments that are like gold to me and keep me motivated as like all I get disheartened.
I feel that I have a new family to get to know on R&S and can not wait to be in good standing.
Even though I am disfellowshiped I want to say I love you all & look forward to christian contact when the time is right.

HulaGirl, thank you for your support. I recently answered a question from someone questionable, but I did not want someone new to see it and only see the answers from their group. Another witness also answered it. I was chosen best answer because I had the nerve to answer it. I ask forgiveness when I pray if wrong to answer some questions, but it somehow dispels the "brain washing theory." As of late, I ask Jehovah to somehow intercept these negative comments regarding the JWs, and your testimony coming from a person of the world defending the truth, is very up building. I especially agree with your last sentence. May God bless you.

It has got nothing to do with niceness, there are good JWs and bad alike. The attack on JW is an attack on ignorance. The flaws inherent in the JW religion are so, so obvious. They require you merely to pick up a (relatively recent) history book to see them. The JW religion shows a real lack of love for truth. Truth for most Christians is a quintessential part of our religion. JW'ism is a scandal to the face of Christianity.

Unfortunately, some of our friends have become victimized by spiritual predators who fit the description Paul put forth at 2 Timothy 3:6-7, which reads: "For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth."
While the Scriptures command Christians to cut off association with brothers and sisters who become apostate, in my opinion it is a mistake to refuse to even discuss the issues, especially with family members.
After all, Jude says that we ought to try and snatch them out of the fires of doubt. But how can we do so unless there is some effort on our part to understand what their issues are?
In the very context of the verse cited above, Paul wrote that we should be "restrained under evil, instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed; as perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth, and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one."
Reasoning on the above verse: If those who are ensnared by the Devil "may come back to their proper senses" then, obviously, the Bible definitely holds out the hope that it is possible for a person to come back into the truth even if they are presently opposed to their former faith.

I agree. If you have a sincere question about something dealing with JWs only, save it for a mature, trusted Christian in your congregation. Don't come here and ask questions knowing you'll get answers from not only apostates, but others who have no clue about our beliefs.

There is a big difference between reproving and refuting false accusations and beliefs, than associating with apostates or disfellowshipped people.
This is a public forum. We have no control over who comes here, but none of us come here in search of apostates or opposers.
Jesus sometimes answered opposers; sometimes he ignored them. We do the same.
It is issues I deal with, not specific people. I speak of Noisy, Jabbering Goats in the plural, not the singular. I may address the issues of opposers, the opposers themselves are irrelevant to me.
I am talking to a mixed group of people, some of whom may want to hear the other side of matters, and to know the truth.

Good question. I think it may be because they are letting their anger towards those who spout off slander about Jehovah get to the best of them. They should always remember that apostates are always eager to tear people down and never build up. They are always eager to point out the flaws and never the good, which makes them not worth anyone's time, frankly.
All TRUE Jehovah's Witnesses should always remember this scripture to help them deal with apostates or anyone who talks badly about our loving God Jehovah.
Matthew 5:10,11 - "“Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
11 “Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU."
And in the future, if any apostates personally target you and try to take away your faith with lies and temptations, just ignore them altogether. They know their fate just as much as Satan does.

Sometimes it hard to sit back and watch the lies, manipulation and bitterness the anti-JW's spread. I pick my battles. We are not the only ones reading these questions, if we don't show that there is another side to the story then innocent people may not know the real truth.
I don't think it's the same as talking to them. There is nothing in print, as far as I know, from the WTS about defending Witnesses on the internet, that's just your opinion. This is an open forum. That's the beauty of Y/A everyone gets to put their two cents in.
JAH BLESS!
