What if, your mother had been a missionary child of Messianic Jewish parents but was now a Buddhist and your father also had been a missionary child of Christian parents and was still a Christian.
When you'd ask either parent things like :
" What is God? Where is God? Who is God? What's the right faith? What should I believe? What's the truth? etc "
They'd simply tell you that you must find that out for yourself.

And what if, from the time you were born you'd been taught about the major world religions, atheism, agnosticism and it had been made clear to you that there were many other forms of beliefs and non, and you were highly encouraged to find out all about them.
What if you'd also been to many countries, were highly cultured and had from the time you were a toddler been going with ( mainly ) your mother to the many places of worship that there are, i.e. to a Gurdwara, and you'd take your shoes off and you'd completely cover your head, Synagogue, your grandparents faith, Dar be-mehr, and you'd offer sweet smelling dry wood to the priests, Masjid to visit, Buddhist temple to chat with your mother, Church with your father,
Jinja with special permission, Mandir to try and get a connection with the gods, etc, etc.
At night your father would read to you from the Bible and
your mother would pray a Buddhist prayer with you.

When you got older, what do you think your personal religious beliefs, if any, would be?

Wow, what an amazing childhood!!! I think I would hold all of the beliefs in the palm of my hand and know that I've learned something great from all of them.....which is what makes the world go round.......LOVE.

I desire they did advance me. Or a minimum of raised me in a classic be counted. I constantly had to do each and everything and raised myself in view that i grew to become into 5, up till some years in the past. I hate that they 'raised' me to be racist and homophobic... on /extreme/ levels. they're way previous something i've got ever heard. My dad additionally raised me to be against my mom... back on extreme levels.

If I had went to poor countries, and seen all the bad things, and checked every religion:
Christianity: Most likely, for the Bible speaks of hope and pain
Buddism: No, for I'd ask, were all these people bad, being born like this?
Hinduism: Probably no
Islam: Too much war
Pagan: No, for Paganism never has any results

These are some top religions. I hope this helped you.

I think you're lucky as hell. Your parents chose to dwell on the similarities of world religions...not the differences that tear us all apart and alienate us from one another.

I was molested at a "church" camp. My family went to nudist camps in the freewheeling 70's on the weekends (I had no choice in the matter) yet I went back to Catholic school the following Mondays and would burn with shame.

I have spent my entire adult years (I'm 36 now) trying to undo all the "organized religion" that was fed to me as a child. I have two beautiful children who are kindhearted, generous and smart because we volunteer and "walk the walk". We don't attend church. We attend Bar Mitzvahs and baptisms and any other event that we are invited to but they are learning that we are all the same inside. I've taught them meditation. We show our gratefulness before meals.

I think of Catholicism and all the secrets. It does not comfort me.

I'd trade places with you in a minute, my friend.

If I'd been raised as you described the personal religion I would have chosen would have been the one which convicted me the most of the truth, God, right faith - that I sought. And if none of them did, I would go on searching....

What is in your heart?

I've dealt with many other religions and the only one that has persevered and saved me from self-destruction, is our LORD JESUS.....I am finally at peace and he speaks to my heart daily. I can't function without him, and wonder how I ever did before I was saved. I pray the same peace, love, joy and tender mercy be upon you too....God Bless You and may you live for eternity with OUR one true God, Jesus Christ~!

I think somewhere in there God would have made his
presence known, you need to look at everything and the
one that touches your heart will be the right one.

What if you'd been raised like this?

Well, that's as much as I'm willing to read.

Point is, non of us have true free will in any event, because free will is relative. That relativity defines restraint upon free will period!

I'm certain that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would have risen to the top like cream on raw milk, because it is the truth.

You would be lucky.

I think that if you aren't indoctrinated into a religion at a young age, then you're likely to turn out to be an atheist once you learn enough about all the religions. Consider that scientists tend to be atheists.

Religion gets and keeps converts through emotional manipulation of human insecurities. If you are not trapped in it emotionally, and learn logic and reason, you'll likely not be religious.
