Help!! Kinda new to the whole sex thing??

Question

I'm 21, and I've only had sex with one guy so far. When we do it, it usually lasts 5 -10 minutes (after a bit of foreplay). Yet, I've overheard some of my girlfriends talk about some of there experiences in bed, and it seems like most of them enjoy longer sex then I do (like 20 minutes or more).

I'm not that experienced, and I'm just wondering if there is an average amount of time that intercourse typically lasts for most couples. I know that you can do things to prolong sex, to make the guy last longer, but I'm talking about the kind of sex that's constant (where the guy keeps thrusting continuously without starting and stopping - not really fast or slow, but just steady, and constant). I think I read somewhere once that studies said 10-15 minutes was average, but I have no idea if that's accurate or not.

I think some guys tend to exaggerate about how long they can last inside a woman.

Looking for responses from people with more experience then me. LOL!!

I don't think the amount of time inside is that important what matters is that it's enjoyable. The time spent in foreplay is far more important!!! From my personal experience 15 min of penetration is more than enough, if you've had the foreplay and all. You are lucky to have a sex life you enjoy, try not to compare to others and appreciate what you've got!

Um, that's pretty normal. Most sex that lasts longer might be prolonged by either slowing down, pulling out or maybe a penis ring (wouldn't recommend the last one, not very good healthwise). But, really, if you get off with your partner, that's all that counts. If you don't, more foreplay or even fondling after sex. The greatest thing about sex is when you both get pleasure out of it and to achieve this, you both have to communicate your likes and dislikes.

LOL I don't think there is any hard and fast rule about how long it SHOULD last. lol sorry I couldn't help it. As long as it is good for you and him both it is good enough. Since you are asking, try different things to make it better for you. Try being on top that way you have more control of depth, speed, angles, and over all feeling. He will be happy just being in you. Try multiple positions per session, to prolong the pleasure. Less foreplay for him, more for you. Make him pleasure you more before the act. We all know girls can go ions longer than guys. Yes there are exceptions to that rule but the general rule is girls need more probing than guys. So Make things more (not all) just more about you, that should provide more longer lasting pleasure for you. Yes it seems a little selfish, but he will be happy in the end, so will you..

I wouldn't say there is an average time for how long a person lasts. I mean, I have gone from a few short minutes to over two hours. I think alot of it has to do with how the guy is feeling and what their intentions are. All in all as long as you are both enjoying it and getting off it shouldn't matter if it lasts 1 minute or 1 hour. Just enjoy it and have fun.

Hhmmmm. We men do enjoy exagerating about such. But you are pretty much on target for actual intercourse time if done without any embellishments. If you want to change positions a few times, that might add to the time and enjoyment. Otherwise, just plain ole "thrust in, pull back, thrust in" missionary position routine seems kinda dull. Maybe too mechanical??

There is not really an average time, but 5-10 minuites is a very short amount of time. C'mon girl jump on the horse if he is not jumping on make him! Just remember, the longer ur in bed the frequenter it will be to getting sexual activity and it will be all the time.

ok so ive read all the answers and they're all pretty tame and boring...and probably not what you're after....so here goes...

ok first thing is you need to go shopping and get a few "essentials"

some duck tape, LOTS of rubber bands, a gold fish, colombian coffee and the latest book by Mitch Albom.

the rest you should have around the house, like shampoo, oranges and a really big foam finger.

Well the thoughest hting is getting the girl off so if you get your orgasm then your doing better then other girls.

Longer actually comes with experience for the male so like I said if you are enjoying it that's all that really maters.
