Leviticus 26:29 - (God says) You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.
Deuteronomy 28:53-57 - Because of the suffering that your enemy will inflict on you during the siege, you will eat the fruit of the womb, the flesh of the sons and daughters the LORD your God has given you. Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children, and he will not give to one of them any of the flesh of his children that he is eating…
Jeremiah 19:9 - I (God) WILL MAKE THEM eat the flesh of their sons and daughters...
Ezekiel 5:10 - Therefore in your midst fathers will eat their children...
Lamentations 4:10 - With their own hands compassionate women have cooked their own children...
God so loved the world that he would never allow... much less make the parents eat their children!!! The heart bleeding Christians are telling us!

The point you are missing is that God is trying to prevent people from eating their own children. He is warning them that the path they are traveling now will ultimately lead to that conclusion. God abhored what was already happening and detested what was about to happen if things were allowed to continue.
As it was they were worshipping idols which "demanded sacrificing their children to them." This is an abominable thing in God's eyes. If they were sacrificing their young to idols (which God abhores), then eating them in time of famine (which also God abhors) would be no surprise. Both are such abominable acts of tremendously, immoral people.
God's saying, "Look, what your sin has produced. If you allow this to continue, your sins will get worse until ultimately you do the unthinkable." But, His people ignore Him and do whatever they want.
So, finally, God says Enough! You don't want to listen to me! I have warned you many times to turn from your sins, stop sacrificing your children to those idols; these sins need to end now! Terrible things will happen if you continue doing these things! But, because you do not heed my warnings, I will allow your sins to run its course and this is what is going to happen when it does!
They don't eat their children because God made them do it. This is what happened when their sins ran their course, as God has warned. God is showing them how evil and wicked they have become that they resorted to eating their children. He is showing how terrible sin is if allowed to proceed to its ultimate end.
It was their own sins and their idol-worship and not trusting God to provide food that caused the abominable act.
