I like report a pastor without a license. I did some research on this church I planned to attend. I found out that this pastor only had junior high school education. Can some one tell me how to go about reporting his action. He has been acting as pastor for over 20yrs now.

I've been to his service couple times, he is wrongful teaching. I have been going to church for over 24 years and obviously can tell which is good or bad.

It's not really much of a license anyway. I'm an atheist, and I've gone online and become ordained, myself. You don't really need an education to push superstition.

The license is only required by churches with denominational obligations. And the title of pastor is given by the church, not any type of degree.

He was probably pretty open about his education when he joined the church he works for, so you run the risk of making yourself look foolish in front of the congregation. If he is a good pastor that knows his Word and teaches effectively and righteously, why would you want to take that away from him or the congregation? If he's not leading anyone astray, then more power to him.

It sounds like you need to re-evaluate your own mind-set about who should be teaching the Word of God. That is who you ultimately are accountable for.

You don't need a license to be a pastor. If people want to be shepherded by an ignorant man, then that is their choice. Sometimes a very spiritual person is recognized and becomes a pastor, and only learns as he goes. The only thing you need a license for is to marry people, and for credibility with anyone who would check on such things.

Most pastors are ordained by a reputable denomination, and they generally have a Master's degree in divinity, or theology, or Biblical studies.

What has this man done to cause your intervention. Who licensed Paul, or Peter, or Jesus? There is no law against acting as an unlicensed pastor to a flock of believers. That is, unless the pastor lied in application for his position, there is no reason he cannot serve God as a pastor. Additionally, I would much rather have an unlicensed honorable man be my pastor than a queer child molesting priest, or some screwy televangelist and his goofy wife. This man has been a pastor for 20 years and is doing God's work? Good for him! You, on the other hand, ought to quit pointing fingers unless there is a valid reason to stir the pot.

Usually there are no licensing requirements to become a pastor, sorry. In fact, I have never known of any civil licensing requirements to pastor any church. If some ecclesiastic body has "ordained" him, he's good to go.

Now, lack of education at a seminary could be a deciding factor of whether you want to attend the church, but nothing illegal has happened here.

Is it a non-denominational church? Non-denominational doesn't need to have a license. The church of Christ also has no pastor at all. The men of the congregation share the duties.

Before you get into "trouble making", you ought to talk to some congregation members and the pastor himself about this. Pastors don't need a license. (Only to marry people.)

If a 7 year old can be a minister surely a 30+ man can be. There is no requirement for a minister to be licensed.

If he has being doing the position, and is accepted by the parishioners, he is a pastor. You don't need a license. You do need to do some tax forms, that's all.

If nobody has noticed in the last 20 years, then he is probably doing as well as any licensed fellow would in the position.

Which actually says a lot about the congregation...
