I was just putting it on to see how I'd like my hairstyle on the wedding day... and I was wearing a nice shirt with it... not my wedding dress. I didn't know if this was untraditional or anything... or even bad luck!

haha well if it's bad luck, does that mean I'm screwed? I tried on my veil twice before my wedding, once just to show a friend how long it was, took pics and emailed. The second was at my trial updo, had pictures then too. I got married, without a hitch, and hey we've been doing ok for almost 5 weeks now :P Ah you're fine, no worries about bad luck this or that. You want to know that your hairstyle is going to suit you, and that your veil will co-ordinate. If wearing your veil is bad luck, my goodnes, what do people say about trying on your wedding dress prior to your wedding? lol.

Good luck!! :)

No, If you look in the section of the newspaper that announces brides you will often see pictures of the bride in full costume not just the veil, prior to the wedding. Later the couple will have their picture together as an after wedding announcement.
There is a silly idea that it is bad luck for the groom to see his bride in full dress before the wedding.

It's definately not bad luck! Your marriage is not going to be doomed if you try on your veil and dress. If that was the case why would we have fittings? You want to look your best on your wedding day and if that means putting everything on prior, go ahead! (Just don't let you fiance see the pictures. It great to see his reaction to first seeing you on your wedding day)

No. Many brides choose to get some photos taken several weeks before their weddings to cut down on time between the ceremony and reception. So, it's fine to take some pics with your veil on!

I don't believe in bad or good luck omens and I don't think there's anything wrong with having your picture taken with your pretty veil on.
That's just my opinion.

And congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!
