I live in Cornwall, which is extremely beautiful, but I have just spent a week visiting my youngest daughter, who lives in the Lake District, which is more beautiful still. The scenery in the Lakes, this time of the year, is absolutely breathtaking, but I found the place very busy with tourists, and the roads were congested, and the people very unfriendly, compared to Cornwall. I still think Cornwall is the loveliest place, and was glad to come home.

I went through Haslemere last week on a connecting bus service from Haslemere to Guildford. I was going by train to London but there were engineering works, hence the bus.

I liked Haslemere because it was very English, with old buildings, no modern monstrosities.

Another place I like is Emsworth. It is a small coastal town and has a nice feel to it, and is quite busy despite its small size. The same goes for Bosham.

I enjoy visiting Portsmouth. Its got plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. The beach is quite large too and a relaxing place to sit and there are always plenty of boats to watch sail by.

Just got back from a trip - this is a hard one. I really liked York - good size for walking, very beautiful, lots to do. I really liked Bath and daytripping to Stonehenge and Avebury from there. I also like Brighton for the laid back beachy/carnival atmosphere. I guess it would depend on my mood.

London, definitely. Love its atmosphere, it has loads of energy and a certain 'buzz' about it. Can't wait till I graduate so I can move there!
