Sometimes my back hurts at work from sitting to long in front of computer. and my bf and I have been dating for 10months.
Every time I've asked him to give me a back rub he refuses and turns it into he's tired. at first i started to think maybe it was me. but not to be conceded but I'm very cute girl with a nice body. So why wouldn't he want to?
the two times he did it was very short and he made it hurt really bad and I told him he was hurting my back more than it was already and his excuse was "back rubs are supposed to hurt so when i stop it feels better"
his new one for the month is. "you dont really need one its just mentally it feels good but it really does nothing for you, so theres no point"
Is this true or is he blowing smoke up my butt again??
I'm starting to think maybe its me and starting to think that he's very selfish. and only wants for himself but when i ask doesn't happen.
so confused.

i started wondering because i was thinking about my previous relationship and we used to always give each other back rubs. no excuses ever. and i did enjoy them.

HAHAHA!! for the last girl that made a comment. I have no moles or nothing on my back its spotless silky smoooooooth :)
sad but i guess i may have to pay for them from now on.

Some people just DON'T LIKE to give other people back-rubs / massages.
Or maybe your boyfriend doesn't know how... or he's just tired of doing it.
I took three years of "stress management / therapy" classes in college and one of the things they taught me was massage techniques. After **years** of giving my friends massages and never get any back in return (at least, none that were, in my opinion, very good)
It just starts to feel like a "chore" because does it takes work to really do a good massage. And if I'm not in the right mood or frame of mind... I would rather not give a massage at all rather than give a crappy one.
Yes, massages are mildly theraputic ... (when done properly) and can help alleviate muscle aches and with the right training - it's as close to chiropractic care as you can get without a degree.
... maybe he's being selfish - but if he doesn't like doing it (which he obviously doesn't) ... you shouldn't ask him.
(If he really liked a certain sex-act and you REALLY didn't like it at all... would you "just do it" to appease him? Probably not)

Any self respecting woman/girl/female should never allow a guy/male/man to rub or put his hands all over her body in public. It's not so much what the guy means by doing this, it's more what the girl is saying. The girl is saying "Hey, my body is free and easy and I want the world to know it, so honey, you go ahead and rub, rub, rub anywhere you like cuz I don't respect my body and I don't expect you to either". That's what you're saying to him. Get it? So, what do you expect him to think? Men aren't such complicated creatures as we women like to think they are. If you're willing to give it up, they're gonna take it free of charge. Anytime, anywhere and anyhow. So, you can stop romanticizing. It's not so respectable. Personally, I wouldn't allow it.

he is selfish, even if you were ugly, he is still your boyfriend right? do you give him back rubs? if you do, STOP!!
maybe he just doesn't know how to rub a back, maybe no one ever taught him before...i gotta say it, maybe you have an ugly back. you might be cute with a cute body (sweet!) but guys are weird about weird stuff...maybe moles freak him out? and at the very end of this, if he still refuses, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a massage at a spa! yeah, you have to pay for it, but let me tell you, it is sooooo worth the money and you don't have to argue! if he has a problem with that tell him to get lost!

No offense, but yeah, he's selfish. I'm sorry, but you're too good for him. He's just too lazy to want to give you a back rub. And yes, your boyfriend is wrong because back rubs do make your back feel better, and they get the knots out of your back. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have back problems and sometimes my back feels much better when my husband rubs it for me. We have a trade off though-I get a back rub and he gets a..... If your BF doesn't want to give you one or is too rough,maybe he could get you a massage every once in awhile in a certified massage clinic? hope this helps!

Ok, first... a good massage does hurt a little. It's breaking up the muscles that are too tight and loosens them up.
But.... you are right. Does seem extremely selfish. Giving girls massages is good for the guy too.

I would rub my wifes back if she asked me to.I love her and back rubs DO feel good especially if your muscles are tense and they do help.Dump this selfish bum.
