I am in a happy relationship of a year, but my ex-boyfriend who lives in another country has been emailing me recently. I haven't written him back just because I didn't feel the need to write to him since I've moved on, but he is not giving up. Should I tell him to "get lost"?

If I write to him, I'll be nice. ;)

I suppose it depends on how you feel about getting his emails if it's not bothering you too much then you could just delete them without reading them. If it is bothering (basically getting on your nerves) then yeah you should tell him to leave you alone. You would have thought that you not replying to him would have given him some kind of a hint but unfortunately some people just don't get it.

I'm not saying to be hurtful when you do it, but, you should tell him you are in a very good place right now and are in a serious relationship. I always tell people not to be hurtful. If roles were reversed and you still had feelings for him wouldn't you appreciate him telling you in a gentle way instead of a hurtful way? If he still doesn't respect your request & how you feel regarding him contacting you, then you can always do a different approach(firmer) that would get him to back off. Worst case scenario.... just hit the delete button and don't even read the e-mail. If it's bothering you beyond belief... just change your e-mail address.

I'd say yes! Would you like him to be talking with an ex-girlfriend with the intentions of the person contacting you? I'm not trying to be harsh but you always have to look at both sides in a relationship.

Tell him that you're in a very happy and committed relationship and that you have no interest in him other than friends. You have to be up front with him but let him know that you mean business. If he keeps on trying to get back with you then tell him that he doesn't respect you and that you need to remove him from your life entirely.

I would treat him how I would want to be treated. With respect.

I would be honest and tell him that I wasn't interested in a relationship with him, that I have a new boyfriend and out of respect for him and for our relationship I can no longer keep in touch.

Yeah, of course he's going to write and e-mail you, he doesn't know you've moved on. He's not a mind reader. Be honest and upfront with him, then you both can move on. Good luck!

Yes you need to tell him that you've moved on and to drop contact with you, or else he'll stick around, clueless.

Just tell him that you are seeing someone else now and you don't read a book backwards, only forwards.

Yes. Tell him he is interfering with your relationship you have with this guy. Unless you have feelings for him. Just tell him like it is.
