when you really, really like something. like, some people love Winter time, or mountains, or the ocean, or a certain animal or color...and on and on. Do you think God is flattered by our love for some of the things God "created?" Maybe it makes him feel closer to us? Like "you like that bird? I made that!"

Yes! I think He loves that! The creation is one aspect of how He shows His glory and character, and He loves to be loved and appreciated. Appreciating His creation is so much a part of that! I recently heard John Piper talking about this very topic --- he was talking about things that no human eye has been able to see before now because we didn't have the technology to do so, for example, things at the bottom of the ocean, and how God *delights* in His creation. He made everything just like it is because He delighted in doing so, and He delights even more when we praise Him for making those things!
He says that 'even the rocks will cry out' if there is no man who will recognize Him and praise Him. The whole creation sings its praises! Scriptures say that the stars SING of Him, and that He knows them all by name! :D
