2 Nephi 25: 26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
27 Wherefore, we speak concerning the law that our children may know the deadness of the law; and they, by knowing the deadness of the law, may look forward unto that life which is in Christ, and know for what end the law was given. And after the law is fulfilled in Christ, that they need not harden their hearts against him when the law ought to be done away.

I think that it is incredible and pure demonstration of exceedingly great faith that the Nephites of that time knew how to live God fearing lives even though Christ did not come to earth until hundreds of years later.

"....that our children may know the deadness of the law...look forward unto life which is in Christ, and know for what end the law was given." As many noble prophets of old have stated this book is written for our day, that we may know Christ!

Totally awesome! Love it!

I'd about given up on a verse of the day...

but this certainly shows that the scripture testifies of Christ and shows and understanding of his life and mission that is often misunderstood or dare I say even lost from the Torah & Old Testament. The saints who truly followed the prophets understood the prophesies and nature of the Coming Messiah.

thanks, for the verses.

That these people understood the importance of Jesus Christ before he was born, and taught it to their children. We too should talk of Christ, rejoice in Christ, preach of Christ, prophecy of Christ, and write according to our prophecies that our children (and others) also might know where to look for a remission of their sins.

One of my favorite passages- the understanding of the relationship between the Law of Moses (animal sacrifices) and the Law that Jesus brought (the Great and Last Sacrifice).
